The scenery is nice, though. And by scenery, I mean the cowboys on the ranch. One cowboy in particular. Forget the majestic mountains and the serenity of Snow Creek; Colt Beckworth puts them both to shame with one perfectly timed smile.
He’s the tall, silent type. While not exactly a willing collaborator in terms of helping me do my job, his shy smiles and slightly awkward exchanges make it easy to like him, though. Especially when he takes the time to listen to me ramble about hashtags and photo filters when he has a million better things to do.
I didn’t come here looking for forever, but Snow Creek makes me believe I might have found it.
Can I influence the shy cowboy to take a risk with me when my contract is up?

So far this has been a great week for me in books! This sweet and swoony romance between opposites was just a lovely read.
Colt is a ranch hand at Snow Creek Ranch and has been through a lot in his life. Luckily the town of Chance, Colorado has been there for him. He’s happy with his job and his life if a bit lonely. He has friends – but not a special someone. Losing his mother and being raised by his Uncle Albert and the support he’s received from Gunner and his other friends in town has been critical. He’s not sure he would ever want to be away from them. Then he is asked to work with the new Marketing/Social Media influencer that Jesse, the ranch owner has hired. He’s not sure how he feels about that. He’s not great with new people and this guy is nothing like he’s used to.
Ethan goes from job to job and place to place. He’s been all over and loves the variety of his work. He’s definitely more comfortable in a city though, so his introduction to horses and ranching and a big strapping ranch hand are a bit overwhelming at first. Colt is a very nice, if shy, guy though and helps Ethan get settled and set up for his time on the ranch. Colt takes him to get ranch appropriate clothes and boots. He takes him on rides and fly fishing. Ethan isn’t sure exactly where this is going, but he really wants to get to know Colt. He senses Colt’s loneliness and Ethan is feeling a bit the same.
Ethan is one who seems to give his heart away and then get burned too often. He keeps moving to keep his loneliness at bay, but what if he doesn’t want that. When he talks to his mother, she encourages him to figure out what it is that he really wants and maybe not go just keep running. (His mother is a GEM!) Colt is encouraged by Gunner, his boss at the ranch, to explore where this friendship or maybe more could go. Maybe this could be something really good for Colt 😉
I absolutely loved how these two men built their relationship slowly from a friendship to then acting on their mutual attraction. I think Ethan was afraid of coming on too strong with Colt at first and well he did have a job to do. Colt has confidence in his work life and with his friends, but he’s unsure of Ethan at first. Once they start sharing their pasts and their true feelings though, they forge something special. I really adored these two and loved how they worked on being vulnerable with each other and sharing their true dreams and feelings. The ending/epilogue is *chef’s kiss*. The dual POV was perfect for this story of two men finding their way together. This whole series so far has been a winner for me! Highly recommended.
