Fake dating Santa’s grumpy head elf might land me on the naughty list…
When the grumpiest elf to ever elf asks me for a favor, I can’t say no. Okay, I can, but I don’t. To get his family off his back, I’ll pretend to be his boyfriend through the holidays, acting all loved up, then we’ll have a quiet breakup. Simple. What could go wrong? Everything, that’s what. Thanks to my meddling brother, there’s no room at the inn, only one bed, and kisses under the mistletoe hot enough to melt all the snow in Santa’s Village.
And now I’m looking at Balfour in a whole new light. We’d gone from enemies to friends, but now I might want more. When we are forced to spend my surprise heat together, I see a side of him I never knew existed. One that makes me want our fake relationship to be real.
Will Santa make my Christmas wish come true?
His Mistletoe Omega is set in the same world as His Gingerbread Omega, and while it can be read as a standalone, the author strongly suggests reading Gingerbread first, as that world and characters in that book will be featured in this book. This sweet M/M holiday romcom is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance that includes fake dating, forced proximity, mistletoe kisses, only one bed, and a surprise heat. There will be meddling families, lots of text messaging, a gingerbread contest, and a touch of Christmas magic.
REVIEW:
Oh my goodness, Santa’s Village AND Sweet Alps! What a special Christmas treat that just dropped onto my Kindle!!
Kendrick is startled when the grumpy giant silver elf suddenly appears in front of him demanding that they have to go NOW! That Balfour’s precious schedule is being disrupted by Kendrick’s younger brother Keegan’s being in labor early! The fact that the giant gorgeous elf has to teleport them to Santa’s Village because Keegan mated with The Santa is just the tip of the iceberg. Not being able to share the joy of being a new uncle because all memories of Keegan back home in Sweet Alps were erased when he became The Santa/Nik’s mate. And this starts the epic adventures of Balfour and Kendrick.
I loved the snark and sass of both of these characters. They gave as good as they got. Kendrick was not intimidated by the 7 foot giant elf. And I really think that Balfour had no clue what to do with the tiny human. But they were quite equally matched, and it was a joy to watch them spar. But even more endearing was when they started falling for each other. However, communication was majorly lacking. And I think their personal insecurities got the best of them sometimes. I loved that Nik finally decided to let his best friend in on the secret. They all knew the truth, and it wasn’t fair to keep it from Balfour. And then I loved that Balfour took the bull by the horns and got things done because these two mates needed to be with each other.
Although I am a huge fan of the next generation of Sinclair’s and their extended family/found family, I will admit that it was a nice Christmas gift to get to spend time back in Sweet Alps and interact with Quinn. He is the one that lead me to this series in the first place and it was fitting that we got time with him and his assistant manager, Josh. And we got to go to The Sweet Spot. 🎉 I still dream of Quinn’s delights he creates. I just want one of his scrumptious cookies to nibble on. However, that visit brought something right to the forefront of my mind. It finally clicked into place that once you move to Santa’s Village you really did disappear from everyone’s memory. Just like Keegan, who actually worked at The Sweet Spot and was where he met Nik, you simply weren’t even a memory any more, no recollection of existing. I know it is so Santa’s Village and its occupants remained safe. But it would be really hard to realize that you had to choose between your mate and any contact with the outside world ever again.
Most anyone who knows me knows that I am a reader. I enjoy (enjoy might be too light/casual of a word for my reading obsession) reading a book. I’m not much for being read to. However, this book is written as the perfect audio book. I found myself reading passages that had Balfour speaking and I read them out loud in my best Balfour voice, complete with snark at times! It really was fun!
I loved this book! I loved the pairing of Kendrick and Balfour. I loved their interactions. I loved how the grumpy giant elf became the sweet, concerned, caring alpha when Kendrick went into his unexpected/early heat. And I loved how he put it all on the line when he discovered that Kendrick was pregnant and hiding it. Kendrick is a hoot and spicy but it was the giant sparkly grumpy elf that stole my heart. 💕
