One night with a handsome ex-bodyguard was all it took. Five months later, and I’m still burning for him. Moving to a small town to chase my dream of becoming a designer was supposed to be strictly professional, but the moment I lock eyes with Gideon again, my career isn’t the only thing constantly on my mind. He’s incredibly sweet, fiercely protective, and dedicated to his work, but can I convince him that what we have is the real deal?
Gideon
A gorgeous, passionate fashion designer and a quiet beekeeper don’t belong together. We’re complete opposites. I’m thirty-eight and ready to settle down. Meanwhile, Avery is living life and chasing his dream. He’s meant for bright runway lights, not to be tangled in my sheets. But when a cruel critic threatens his future, my protective instincts take over. I promised myself I wouldn’t catch feelings for him. Unfortunately, I think I’m already too late.
Welcome to Foggy Basin. Nestled at the base of the foothills in northern California, this small town is full of characters just waiting to tell you their story. Whether you’re just passing through or you decide to stay a while longer, you’ll always find a warm welcome from the townsfolk. From farmers and animal rescues to artists and small business owners. Foggy Basin has it all.
Tropes and themes:

-Ex Bodyguard meets Fashion Designer

REVIEW:
I LOVE multi-author series that interconnect and have repeat seasons. And going back to visit Foggy Basin has fast become one of my favorite escapes. We are now on our third season, not counting all the wonderful holiday short stories and such, and I am with one of my favorite couples and all their friends.
Avery Wade is getting to do what he could only dream of. That chance interview that he got to do for Dee Ram Magazine five months ago has landed him with a dream internship being design assistant to Ezra Strum! The Ezra Strum!!! His personal idol! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The fact that Ezra’s shop Beauty and the Boutique is located in the same tiny town of Foggy Basin that the one-night stand that blew his mind is an extra plus. The local beekeeper that hasn’t left his memory. But when both men discover they have each been pining away for each other there is no one that can get in their way to be with their “one”!
A great second-chance story that reconnects two lovers who met but it wasn’t meant to be at that time is always great. We first met Avery, the star-struck reporter for Dee Rama Magazine in the sweet short story No Sleep Till Pride getting to meet and interview his idol, Ezra Strum. That sweet, short story opened the way for Avery to meet both Ezra and his hunky beekeeper Gideon. I loved that Gideon and Avery never stopped pining for each other during their separation. And that Ezra saw how talented Avery was and gave him a chance.
I have become a major fan of Filipino food. Pork adobo and lumpia’s are a special treat that I have discovered since living in Hawaii. I never knew that the southern staple of pimento cheese spread my mama used to make had a Filipino twist. I just wish I could’ve sat down and ate at mama’s dinner table with them all. And Gideon’s grilled pimento cheese spread sandwich sounds simply amazing. I wish the recipe was in there.
This was a feel good book that was perfect while waiting out the storm brewing in the Pacific. And I loved all the cameo appearances from Foggy Basin seasons.
