BLURB:
I came to celebrate my call-up to the NHL playoffs. I didn’t expect a rockstar to turn my world upside down.
Evan Crosby
After five years grinding in the AHL, I finally get my shot with the Coyotes.
The playoffs are my chance to prove I belong in the NHL.
No distractions. No mistakes.
Then I walk into a bar in Scottsdale to celebrate…
and lock eyes with him.
Ronan Vale—dark hair, sinful eyeliner, and a voice that’s haunted my playlists for years.
A rockstar who looks at me like I’m the only man in the room.
I’ve always dated women.
My career is hanging by a thread.
And the last thing a playoff rookie needs is a scandal.
But the way Ronan touches me?
The way he makes me feel?
Suddenly the biggest risk of my career isn’t on the ice.
It’s falling for him.
Ronan Vale
Fame taught me one thing—never let anyone close enough to break you.
Music is safe. Touring is safe. Casual hookups are safe.
Then Evan Crosby crashes into my life—sweet, nervous, and completely new to everything I am.
He says this can’t be real.
That his career could shatter if anyone finds out.
But the way he kisses me tells a different story.
And when the final buzzer sounds on his playoff run, he’ll have to decide.
Protect the career he’s fought for…
Or risk everything for a love neither of us saw coming.

REVIEW:
A new series spin-off from Desert Ice Hockey with ties to Desert Hockey too!
Evan Crosby might be a tad bit older than most rookies in the NHL but he has finally earned his chance with being called up as a Black Ace for the playoffs by the Coyotes, his buddies team. He knows his dad thinks it’s because of that girl that he lost his chance early on. But he’s so ready for this. What he never expects is to have the lead singer from Vanta Crown, one of his most favorite indie bands, Ronan Vale seem to be hitting on him the night before his first practice. It’s well known that Ronan is bisexual, but Evan is straight… or so he always thought!
Ronan’s childhood and young adulthood wasn’t an easy story to read at times. The fact that his cooking skills are so good because he had to learn to cook early to survive and be fed is tragic but, unfortunately, way too common. Children of alcoholic and/or drug user parents having to take care of their parents is more common than we should see. And poor Ronan got the double-whammy with his. It hurt to watch Jeff waltz back into his life and I feared the worse like Drew did. I know Evan was a more positive soul but Drew knew who Ronan’s parents really were. And showing up into your kids, lives later, after they become super successful, always puts me on edge. Usually, rightfully so.
I think one of my favorite characters in this book wasn’t even human. Bean, Ronan’s little French bulldog was such a cutie and Evan kept trying to scar the poor thing’s eyes the moment he came through the door. For a guy who never knew he was attracted to other guys he sure got with the program fast with Ronan! Lol.
These interconnected series are have the main characters face their unknown bisexuality or fluidness a lot. It is interesting to watch find them find their one and discover they are bisexual or gay-for-only-you.
One of the big things in this new spinoff series is that we get to reconnect a bit with all my favorite Desert Ice Hockey boys, aka The Squad that got drafted to the Coyotes. We got to mingle with Lucas, Ace, Archer, Mason, and Jett. We even got to spend time with Ezra and Lucas. And a brief moment with Colton and Tex. That was my only disappointment. Colton and Evan were best friends since high school but he brushed him off it seemed. I get it. Colton had Tex and they were moving to Denver. But they were still here and Colton had just experienced what Evan was experiencing with his bisexual awakening.
I am looking forward to more stories in this new series soon. Coyote’s Team Captain Alex Volkov’s story is suppose to be next and it sounds like a doozy!
