Jagger Hansen, a former Nevada State Patrol officer, is known as the moody guy around Sparks Bail Bonds. He’s never quick to jump into any office antics, and while he gets along with his coworkers, he doesn’t feel like he fits in.
Master Sergeant Bailey Gregory decides to leave the military behind and head to Carson City, Nevada, where his only sibling resides, hoping to find the sense of family he hasn’t felt since he enlisted.
Lady Fate enjoys turning lives upside down, and when Jagger and Bailey run into each other again during an embarrassing encounter, Fate’s usual chaos is off and running.
Will Bailey’s life-by-the-balls attitude rub off on Jagger, or will Bailey end up with Moods Like Jagger?
This novel is approximately 62,000 words in length with no cliffhanger and an HEA. It is Book 3 in the Prey for the Hunter series. I hope you enjoy it.
Can a former Nevada State Trooper turned bounty hunter grab a second chance with a former Army Infantryman and hold on to the one who got away too quickly? When fate hands Jagger his second chance with Bailey Gregory, will Jagger bungle it, or will the former soldier give him a run for his money?
REVIEW:
I have loved all of Sam E. Kraemer’s Lonely Heroes from the moment I met them. They are extremely loyal and fierce men who protect those that they love with everything they have. When the Prey for the Hunter series was introduced as a spin-off I just knew that I would love all these men just as much. And I was right!
Jagger Hansen might be a moody guy that isn’t quick to let people into his personal world easily but he is a protector at heart. Having been a Nevada State Trooper that rose to the ranks of part of the elite Governor’s personal protection team, Jagger was very good at his job. But something didn’t set well with him when he was on duty at the Angel Lake compound. The governor had a male companion with him and the governor’s wife wasn’t there. She had always been nice to their team and this didn’t set well with him. He left the team and law enforcement, shortly after that weekend.. Something that didn’t set well with his family. And the regret that came with it wasn’t from leaving the job, but losing the opportunity to get to know the governor’s twin better.
How could you not want everything to work out for Jagger and Bailey??? It hurt to know that Jagger was secretly jealous of the mates his fellow bail bondsmen were making. And being lonely and not out was hard. He worried that his family, although they had basically snubbed him now, would close the door completely if they knew who he really was. And his secret longing to know what it would have been like if his crush on the governor’s brother had made it to reality was also holding him hostage in his mind. No one had flipped his boat like that short encounter with Bailey.
I loved how fiercely loyal and protective Bailey was of his six minute younger identical twin brother. He had Thomas’s back whether Thomas wanted it or not. And he could see that Thomas wasn’t making rational decisions when it came to his personal life. That loyalty and protection was also for Jagger. Bailey fell for the gorgeous man almost immediately and set out to make sure Jagger was his and he knew it!
Then there was Lindsey. I know that she and Thomas were supposedly best friends before their lavender marriage came to be. But what she did to him was RAPE, plain and simple! I don’t like that she got off scott free. She took advantage of the man she supposedly loved deeply for her own gains. Something happening to her in the future wouldn’t hurt my feelings in the slightest. Thomas was hurt by her and her greed. Greed for fame as Nevada’s First Lady. Greed for a child and to change Thomas from whom she knew he was. And greed for the family fortune that she felt was within her grasp if she produced an heir for their Mother. She is an awful human being and deserved to be taken down.
I am very interested with where the next book in this amazing series goes. It’s supposedly Keats story. But I am interested to hear what is up with him and Greeley. Are they secret lovers? Best friends? Best friends with benefits? Plus I have a sneaking suspicion that our local detective Spitzer will be around a lot too! This was a fascinating and engaging book that kept me guessing.
