Anderson

I will never regret giving up my dreams of acting to become a parent to my orphaned niece seventeen years ago. She’s the light of my life, and my executive-assistant job paid for a comfortable home for us both. But now she’s heading to university, and I’m facing an empty nest. Suddenly, I can focus back on who I am and what I need. And at this crossroads, who do I run into at Mission City’s Christmas market but my college sweetheart. I’ve never forgotten Jarrod, and reconnecting brings those memories crashing back. Could there be a chance…?

Jarrod

I finished a degree in computer science, but my family needed my help back in Chilliwack. It’s been a hardworking life, preserving the goat farm that was my legacy, but I kept their dream alive. After my parents passed, I threw myself into adding products like goat-milk soap, and it’s been a good move. What I don’t expect while working my sales booth at the Christmas market is to see Anderson wandering the aisles. He dumped me without a word seventeen years ago, and the hurt still lingers, but I admit I’m curious. Why did he run? Is he single? Within a few minutes, I realize there’s a spark between us that never went out. But do I want to take any kind of chance with this man again?

Anderson’s Reinvention is a second chance, interracial, opposites attract gay romance with a button-down hardworking executive assistant and the goat farmer he never forgot. This novella first appeared in a promotional giveaway. No new content has been added.

REVIEW:

This was sweet, fast second chance read that will warm your heart 💝

Anderson never regretted for one moment taking in his 3-month old niece as his daughter and raising her the last seventeen years when her mother died. His only regret was Jarrod, his college boyfriend that he literally disappeared from without so much as a note. He knew that Jarrod had always wanted children and he would most probably give up his future IT career to help Anderson. So, when out shopping at the local vendors Christmas Market, Anderson spots his old love he goes up to chat. The two have lots to chat about and windup spending dinner and then the night together. But can love still be strong after 17 years?

I have a feeling that this story’s character Anderson would have been better understood if I had read his boss’s story first. I kinda feel like I missed that part of the back story but it still worked for me. I love a good second chance story and this one was very good.

Anderson and Jarrod rediscovering each other as Anderson’s daughter is moving on to college was the perfect timing. These two simply picked back up where they had suddenly stopped all those years ago. I will say that Jarrod was way more understanding and forgiving than I would have been if my boyfriend just vanished without any notice.

Quick read that will leave you smiling.
