BLURB:

Losing my hearing has far more consequences than I expected.

The physical part is frustrating and annoying, but the emotional part is so much harder. I don’t belong anywhere anymore, always an outsider.

And now there’s Dayton, the older, sexy firefighter who keeps popping up everywhere I go. At my gym, in my house, in my dreams.

Wait, why am I dreaming about him?

I don’t even like him—though that doesn’t seem to be mutual.

Surprisingly, Dayton understands my struggles better than anyone else, and before I realize what’s happening, he’s decided we’re friends.

Except I’m not sure I’m satisfied with just friendship anymore…

Accepting that I’m bi is easy, but why does the man I’m falling for have to be Dayton?

Tameron is the third book in the Honorably Discharged Series, which can be read as standalones but are much more fun read in order. It features a veteran trying to find where he belongs, a firefighter chief who knows what he wants, an age gap, one-sided dislike meets crush, found family, and a steamy happily ever after.

REVIEW:

I LOVE this series. I may have squeed a bit and had excited butterflies in my stomach when I sat down to read this book this morning. Yes, I read the whole thing in one day around household chores, just glad it’s a Sunday.

This is the third book in this co-authored series about a group of veteran soldiers who are all hurt in different ways following an accidental explosion on the army base where they stationed. The four soldiers all live together in a shared house owned by Nash and are gradually finding love.

This book focuses on Tameron, who was an ordnance specialist until the explosion that damaged his hearing. His injury means that his hearing, along with his balance is deteriorating. He is struggling to learn ASL and doesn’t feel worthy of peoples help. Tameron is no longer sure of who he is and his place in the world.

Dayton is a new friend of Nash’s. He is the Battalion Chief of the firehouse where Nash is now stationed as an EMT. He has only recently moved back to the area after being a fire chief in the city and is looking forward to a quieter life. He is CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and knows what it is like feeling like the odd one out as both his siblings and his parents are all deaf.

For some reason that he is unsure of, Tameron does not like Dayton. Sure, he doesn’t hate him, but he doesn’t like him and Tameron is unimpressed to find that Dayton is his new yoga instructor. But as with all these former solders Tameron has to learn to accept himself and new life before he can move on.

We also get to see how Creek, Bean and Nash are moving on with their lives and get to see more of Nash’s insecurities.  I love how these guys are brothers to each other and always there for each other.

I love the way that Nora Pheonix and E.M. Lindsey write together. I cannot distinguish who has written what and if I am ever at a signing with them, I will definitely have to ask about their writing process.

I realise I have said love loads in this review, but there really is nothing I would change about it. This series just keeps getting better. I am really excited for Nash’s book.
