I’d like to thank Love Bytes for giving me this opportunity to tell you about myself and my latest release!
Hi, I’m Cindy Sutherland. I’m 55 years old and live in Alberta, Canada…and I write gay romance stories. I discovered fan-fiction when I was 40. Until then I didn’t know it existed, but the stories blew me away. I’d always wanted to write and I finally found an outlet for my creativity. Around the same time, I discovered a soap opera called As The World Turns, specifically the storyline about two young men who were gay. I loved the characters and the actors who portrayed them but the writing sucked. So that’s how I got started. The first stories I wrote were fanfiction and it just grew from there. When the new friends I’d found in my fandom started bugging me to try and publish, I thought they were crazy but I submitted a story just to shut them up. Imagine my surprise when my publisher said yes!
Now, some 15 years later I’m trying my hand at self-publishing, with a lot of help from my good friend, editor and cover artist Ashavan Doyon. This wouldn’t have been possible without him.
This book was published before but the rights reverted back to me when the publisher closed their doors so I’m eager to get this back out into the public eye.
Love Aggression is a wolf shifter story about a man who’s been looking for his other half for most of his lift, but never really believing he existed. He finds himself on the run with his young son and meets someone who might finally be that missing part of himself. But his past is starting to catch up with him and Ty isn’t sure that he’s going to live long enough to get that chance.
This book is a thriller with a lot of romantic elements. It’s my favorite kind of story to read and I really wanted to give this kind of story a go. Its probably my favorite of the books I’ve written, and I hope you will love it too. Tyler and his son Jesse were characters that compelled me to keep writing, even when I felt like giving up. Kelan is a character who I relate to a lot and a lot of his characteristics come from me.

Tyler Calvano knew his ex-wife’s boyfriend was bad news from the way the little hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, from a smell of danger, from an animal instinct his ex had once appreciated. He wished she’d listened to him. Custody exchanges were hard enough on Jesse, now Ty had to wonder—did Jesse have enough wolf bursting inside him yet to have heard his mother’s pleas as she was gunned down? He couldn’t trust the police to protect them. He took Jesse and he fled across the continent, as far as he could go.
Ty and Jesse became Tanner and Jason—different names, different lives. The nightmares still woke Jesse. Ty kept looking over his shoulder. The only spot of light was a man at the daycare, Kelan, a shifter like Ty—a wolf in human guise, ready to change, ready to protect. The daycare was safe. But another shifter was something Ty hadn’t counted on. With it came the complications of pack rivalries, of shifter brothers who tormented Kelan, of the unreasoned animal want that grew every time Ty caught scent of him.
And every day, the killers kept looking for them, the only people who might identify them. Ty couldn’t take risks. Ty couldn’t open his heart. Ty had to keep Jesse safe. Nothing else mattered.
I discovered fanfiction in 2009 when I was 40 years old. I had discovered the Luke and Noah storyline on As the World Turns on youtube and found myself part of a huge fandom who loved to write a better story than we were getting on TV. I’d always wanted to write, so I gave it a shot! Two years later my first book was published and no one was more shocked than me!

I like romantic thrillers.
I’ve known Cindy since high school. I’ve never read her books but I’m so proud of her to find her gift of writing. Keep writing Cindy, you are doing fantastic job in making the LGBT community less scary and more informative that people still feel love no matter what a person identifie s with. In some Native cultures their used be different sexualities. All were accepted. Keep up the good work and look forward to reading one of your book books.
