We’re the least likely couple you’ll ever see. Until the lights go out.
Parker
My brother’s best friend has a secret. And I just happen to know what he does in a hidden downtown apartment at night. In front of a camera. Sculpted like a Greek god, Dayton soon becomes all I want.
But a guy like me could never hope to catch his attention. I’ve never been with anyone. I’ve never even kissed a guy. Hell, not even the strangers on dating apps want to take me out. And my brother’s growing worry that I’ll get my heart broken – or worse – is only making things more complicated.
There’s no pity in Dayton’s eyes when he decides to be my only ally. And there’s no prank behind the spectacular first date I ask him to take me to. Before I know it, I’m doing the very thing my big brother wants to prevent.
I’m falling in love with a guy who claims to be incapable of loving anyone back.
Dayton
My best friend has a younger brother. And he just happens to be a curious and inexperienced freshman. Ginger, sexy, and determined to have the time of his life this semester, Parker quickly becomes my newest obsession.
He wants his first date to be something special. And grand gestures are my specialty. I know all the pitfalls of giving away your V-card. Nobody’s first time should be as cold and careless as mine. A toss of a coin decides it: I am his dating coach. And more.
There’s only one little hiccough in our plan. His big brother must never find out.
Except, when Parker’s soul collides with mine in a night of exploration and delights, I risk more than losing my certified player status. I risk losing the only friendship I preserved through my entire life.
I’m not sure if that’s a risk I’m willing to take.
REVIEW:
This is Book 6 of the Frat Brats of Santa Barbara by Hayden Hall and it has been an amazing series so far. I love every book in this series and this latest instalment is just as amazing as the others. This is the story of Dayton Young, (I personally think) our most playful member of the FuckBoys. This series is about beautiful young men who goes to college at Highgate Academy which is an exclusive school for boys. It mostly has men coming from rich backgrounds as students but as we read these books, they are just as human as you and me, whether they are rich or not, they go through the same pains and frustrations like you and me. Sometimes they have it harder because of high expectations and doing what they are told.
If we read the last book in the series, The Accidental Honeymoon Catastrophe, we witness Dayton pulled off the greatest prank on his two friends. Stefan and Marco, that made these two realized how much they love each other. Now, fresh from that accidental (not really) marriage, we see Dayton and his friends enter a new schoolyear. After all their friends paired up, it is just Dayton and Justin who are living the life (or so they thought) of fun and hookups.
Parker, Justin’s younger brother, is just starting his freshman year at Highgate but so far what he thought was going to be his freedom is turning out to be another extension of protection, this time from his brother. He cannot even get a drink from the local bar because Justin warned them not to serve him. Never mind that his group of friends could drink and do what they want, it is just him. In frustration (and defiance if I may add), he turned to his brother’s best friend and sort of told him how he truly feels. He told Dayton he wanted to experience all his “firsts” but he cannot because of what his brother is doing to prevent that.
After spending talking one night, Dayton and Parker started spending more time together, just talking and getting to know each other as Dayton can see the effects of what Justin is doing to curtail the freedom of his brother. But most especially when Parker found out what Dayton’s secret is and they begin talking about it through test messaging. As they become closer after spending more time together, feelings started to develop. But there is also guilt in Dayton’s part because he knew that his friend will be devastated when he finds out what is going on between Dayton and his younger brother, Parker.
Dayton is so sweet. You can actually see it when he did what he did for Stefan and Marco. He just has this outer persona where he lets people think that he is only up for a good time and nothing else. He is sweet, caring and so beautiful inside and out.
Parker has been carrying his V card for a long time. His friends thought that he has experienced it all but they are so wrong. He just didn’t want to correct them. But he swore that he will experience all his firsts when he enters college but he never counted on his brother being so over-protective. But now that he is closer with Dayton and actually start to have some feelings for him, he thinks Dayton could give him all that (and more, maybe?).
Low angst, full of sweetness and friendship, this book is an amazing addition to the already spectacular series. Congratulations Mr. Hayden Hall for yet another bestseller. I cannot wait for Justin’s book.
