REVIEW:
This is a brand-new to me author that I met through another author friend and am so thankful she introduced her to me
Dallas Rhees knows he has to hide his true self at all costs. No one is ever going to want the femme little he really is and his parents and his ex pounded that into him. So he is destine to be alone and miserable forever. At least he has his best friend and adopted big sis Clarissa to be with him forever. And his bestest little friend Liza and her Daddy Charlie he can be open and honest with. He had the perfect man three years ago but he had to run when his feelings grew too big.
Color Dallas shocked when Dallas finally meets Carissa’s fiancé Josh’s family at her rehearsal dinner and there stands Josh’s Uncle Liam…his perfect ex! When Liam sees Dallas he has finally found his one that got away. Liam has always know that Dallas was the perfect boy for him and when he learns that Dallas is soon to be homeless he has the perfect opening to make him his forever! But can he get Dallas to finally open his eyes to what they have?
Dallas’s back story is heartbreaking. Yes he is gorgeous and built like he should be the star on any football team. But that definitely isn’t Dallas. Dallas would prefer cuddles while dressed in pink and pretty bows in his golden hair. I know it is initially a shock to anyone when he lets his little shine through but Daddy Liam is fine with it and embraces all of Dallas. But Dallas’s tragic upbringing and past relationships make it practically impossible to trust that anyone will still want him let alone love him if his real self is let out to play.
I know that Liam is a doctor and Liza is a therapist so I would have thought that getting Dallas to seek help would have been a big time push for them. I was thankful that he finally did get the help he truly needed. He should have been urged to seek help after discovering Richard the way he did.
I am so thankful to have found this series. I know that the author has taken her traditionally published books back and is now independently publishing them. She’s re-edited, polished and had all new covers designed. This series is so good and I can’t wait for more to come!
