LENGTH: 119 pages
RELEASE DATE: January 29, 2021
BLURB:
Mitch has never quite fit in. He’s always felt…different somehow, though he could never put his finger on it. When he meets Stan, a strange and mysterious man, he feels an instant attraction and like someone finally truly understands him.
The allure of Stan is so powerful and all-consuming that Mitch soon packs up and leaves everyone behind to move in with Mitch in his rural community. But once ensconced there and separated from everything he used to know, Stan changes. And Mitch is trapped. And there are strange things going on around him…otherworldly things.
Stan’s twin brother Wes seems to be Mitch’s only hope of escape—and of love. For where Stan is evil, Wes is good. Will Mitch be stuck in misery with Stan? Or is there hope for him and happiness with Wes?
The secrets soon spill and the truth comes out. And the most shocking revelation of all for Mitch? He might not be quite human himself.
REVIEW:
Mitch is twenty-two and is different, special, he doesn’t know exactly why and how, but he feels different. The vague behavior of his parents isn’t helping him to understand the reason.
Mitch is over his head with Stan, he never met him, yet, but they talk by email and voice. Stan plays the mystery man. Seducing Mitch is what he does and Mitch is mesmerized by Stan.
Mitch is vulnerable and easily enticed by sweet talk, possessiveness, and protective talk. Stan knows what he’s doing, win Mitch over.
In no time Stan takes Mitch with him, Mitch leaves everything behind and doesn’t look back.
What follows took me by surprise ha! I didn’t expect this! I loved to be surprised.
Trapped in the claws of a master manipulator Mitch is getting more and more desperate
His dreams became a nightmare.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel, Stan’s twin brother Wes. He’s the opposite of Stan.
Maybe he can help Mitch.
My mind raced about all the why’s, the possibilities, I almost forgot it was a fantasy read!
The course of this narrative made that part, later on, clear for me, absolutely a fantasy.
This story started strong, sensual, and very intense, at some point it got a bit illogical, softer and the last part felt rushed with some loose ends. I would have loved some more development about Mitch’s origin.
Besides some minus points, I was intrigued by this story, it kept my attention, it was captivatingly written and when I look back at the total picture I can say I quite enjoyed this one.
