REVIEW:
This is the 2nd book in the Bodyguard Pack series. As I’ve stated many times before, bodyguard stories are thing. This story picks up nicely where the first one left off and gives us Hawk and Peter’s story.
I really liked how the story unfolded. It wasn’t packed with as much action as the first story but it was still a good read. The character development is really well done. I liked how the author introduces and gives the peripheral characters their own stories while simultaneously keeping the focus on telling the MCs’ stories.
The story once again flows nicely without lagging or allowing the reader to become bored at any parts of the book. I truly enjoyed Hawk and Peter’s characters. Peter is this sweet, caring, kind and protective of his siblings who I initially thought were annoying, shallow and spoiled. They were but they were also sweet, loving especially towards Peter. They looked up to him. The relationship between the siblings was close; I loved how affectionate they were towards each other. That went a long way in curbing my annoyance with them.
Hawk’s character was an interesting mix of tough, vulnerable and a bit shy. Hawk’s past caused him to sort of build a wall to keep strangers out. The author did an excellent job of allowing Peter’s character to break through Hawk’s wall and allow him to find the life and love that he deserves.
Although I liked the first book better than I liked this one, I truly enjoyed reading it and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next with these characters.
