Davey’s Rule Number 53: Daddy shouldn’t be afraid to let his boy top.
Before Davey came to work at Daddy’s Lap and began that crazy list of rules, his future bestie, Sammy, was already living happily ever after with his own Daddy-dom. From the moment they met over a gas pump to the day they were legally able to wed, leather Daddy Raphael Robustelli adored his linebacker-sized boy. This is their love story, as seen through a series of six short vignettes. Witness the moment they met, see the first time Davey came to the club, and so much more. This is a short 20k volume, filled with emotion and backstory for the entire series.
Note: This is not a full-length book and does not contain a new couple. This can be listened to as a stand-alone but will be most enjoyed by those who have read the series.
This is the sixth book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys”, and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Grab your fan and tissues because this series comes with both a high heat advisory and all the squishy feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.
REVIEW:
This book is a rundown, if you will, of the lives of Sam and Rafael, from the moment they met, up until the time Rafael suffered his second heart attack. The short volume goes down memory lane recalling the important times in their lives.
Although Sam has always been tall, even in high school, he still was a victim of bullying. Because of his height, those who think they could get away with showing him that he was not an Alpha tried to bully him, even if they were smaller than him. Now working in a gym as an instructor, he still sometimes gets the occasional treatment but dishes it out in a different manner, but basically it’s still bullying and demeaning.
A sexy biker who save the day! Stumbling on a robbery while preoccupied with flirting with a hot biker, Sam runs away from the scene of the crime, afraid that the biker might see how excited he became during the robbery and while they were being saved by the sexy biker.
Daddy kink is one of those unique dynamics between two people where there is a Dom/sub integration. Some couples are living this dynamic 24/7, while others do it in their own homes or while they are among friends. Although Sam is not practicing this kind of kink, he takes to it fairly easily when he meets Rafael. Maybe it is due in fact to Rafael himself who, although bigger than him a little in height but more in mass, does not make him feel afraid.
As their relationship grows, we witness some of the milestones they experienced as a couple in this audiobook. When they met, how their first few months progressed, their Christmases, especially when they go and visit Jeffrey, Rafael’s nephew, whose parents are members of a cult and live in a commune. This is always the hardest part of their Christmases, but one that they cannot do anything about yet! And we see how he meets his future best friend Davey.
They are now attuned to each other’s character and attitude, complementing each other and providing what the other needs. They have grown a lot, they got married and had children. A bittersweet recall down memory lane, focusing on Sam and Rafael.
Mr. Michael Dean did an amazing job in voicing the different characters but especially those of Rafael and Sam. I love how he voiced Rafael, especially during the wedding and then those moments between him and Sam in critical times of their lives. The feelings in those dialogues made me cry. Thank you for what you do Mr. Dean, for bringing these awesome characters to life!
