One lonely lawyer. Twelve blind dates. Finding his special someone will take a Christmas miracle.
Aiden would rather eat an entire fruitcake than face his ex and his ex’s new boyfriend at their company holiday party — especially by himself. So when his best friend suggests he find some arm candy, Aiden reluctantly agrees to a few blind dates.
Aiden doesn’t expect a dozen perfect matches, but one disastrous night after another is killing his Christmas spirit, and time is running out. There has to be a special guy out there Aiden can kiss under the mistletoe. Right?
The Twelve Dates of Christmas is a 31,000-word MM romance featuring five horny singles, four garlic cheese fries, three IPAs, two naked trees, and a jingle bell head injury. This feel-good story is filled with humor, heart, and a happy ever after perfect for the holidays.
REVIEW:
This book reminds me of Vanessa Williams 1992 song Save the Best for Last. I was obsessed with that song as a teenager and I still love it to this day. In fact, I’m thinking that the premise of this was story was inspired by the song. If not, then is the perfect companion to this novella; there is a verse to the song that matches each scenario in this novella. And it is glorious.
Twelves Dates is the perfect example of what a Christmas romance should be: sweet, romantic with a touch of humor, a meddling best friend, and a HEA. This story has all of those key components in abundance.
Aidan Palmer is an attorney who is kind of struggling to get over his ex boyfriend which prevents him from moving on and keeping him from dating. But his best friend Chelsey was having none of it.
What follows is a series of hilarious blind dates and the one constant who was there to witness it all—the hunky bar owner/bartender Liam who’s establishment is use as the meeting/dating spot.
This story was a nice and cozy little Christmas read. The characters antics and dialogue was well written and hilarious. The premise of the story had been done a couple times before but James and wild manage to present it with a fresher, more fun and romantic veneer to it.
The heat rating was low but that in no way shape or form takes away from just how good the story was. If anything, these authors manage to strike the perfect balance between slow burn romance and humor to make the story flow beautifully.
Oh, and my goodness, but the ending was absolutely fabulous!
My only complaint was that it wasn’t longer! I wanted to stay in this world with Aiden and Liam. This novella is a small, sweet little more so that will leave you with the sweetest, most delicious aftertaste.
These authors did such a fantastic job.
…He went and saved the best for last…
