REVIEW:
I have been waiting to try a Hans Hirschi book since I had an opportunity to met him at Rainbow Con this last summer. This was a fun little book. You can’t help but like Ross. He is this sweet, great looking guy who is kind to everyone and can find the positive to all situations and people he meets. My only problem with him is when he seems to lose good judgment over safe sex. Condoms, can I repeat, condoms are a given essential in the escort business! I cringed several times in a couple of situations where good judgment just fell by the wayside! Ross must have been watched over by a personal guardian angel because he was a very fortunate and lucky man in this business. This story takes place over a ten-year period, done in reminiscing style, as Ross has finally “met” someone, John, and is starting to date him. And John is a really good guy. Ross is finally at a place in his life where he is ready for the next step…a real relationship. The vignettes of the people who helped shape his life and their impact on him were funny and sweet. I enjoyed getting to see the kind side of Ross through these vignettes. He had a caring heart for the people he met and got to know.
Is this great literature, no, but it is a sweet and fun book. Did it bother me that there were several unsafe sex practices scenes, most definitely! I admit that I had to walk away from the book a couple of times because these really bothered and scared me. Unsafe sex is just not okay in my book. Taking unnecessary risks to your life is not cool! Did Ross deserve a HEA? Most deservedly so. He is kind, and sweet, and caring to all people and totally deserves someone that will be there for him! And I so love John! He is one of the “good guys”! A fun little book that I am glad I got a chance to read.
