REVIEW:
Fracture is the last instalment in the Flight HA1710 series. Amber Kell has done a superb job of tying up all the loose ends and explaining in detail exactly what happened to bring down Flight HA1710.
Xavier Soto is a junior engineer at Helling Aeronatics, because Xavier is only a junior it seems his opinion doesn’t really matter. As he was reading a report on some bolts Xavier realised there was a huge discrepancy but no-one will listen to him. So, to save his job he allows himself to be convinced everything has been adjusted and no inferior product will be going into any planes.
Fast forward a year and Xavier is at home watching with utter horror the chilling details about the crash of Flight HA1710! With a sinking feeling in his gut Xavier just knows that the culprit is the inferior bolts he found last year that he’d been assured by his boss had been rectified. With a years’ worth of experience at Helling Xavier knows not to waste his breath trying to get anyone to listen to him. As luck would have it his neighbour is a cousin to the lead investigator of the crash. Xavier has even tried calling into the hot line with a tip on what might have caused the crash but even there he’s being ignored. When all else fails Xavier decides for his own conscience he has to contact Brent Clery the lead investigator. Brent of course doesn’t believe Xavier at first until he has his investigators check into what he’s been told and he must admit, he’s shocked at the results. Xavier was right, now the rush is on to very quietly investigate Helling Aeronatics without them catching on!
As they work together Xavier and Brent don’t mean to do anything about their mutual attraction but in the devastation they both need the comfort and closeness of another human being. Unfortunately, someone at Helling has realised they’re under suspicion and the only person not at work as usual is Xavier. After several failed attempts on Xavier’s life the investigation is broken wide open with a lot of very influential people being arrested. There’s one person that has managed to escape, Xavier’s old boss the one person who knows that Xavier wasn’t happy with the explanation and wouldn’t just let things lie! Now the race is on to keep Xavier away from a madman and alive!
I must say this has been an incredible series. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading every book. The authors must all be commended for such a brilliant job! You can tell there are different authors writing each book but the way they made each story flow from one book to the next and keeping everything on track so that you knew where you were at all times throughout the entire series? Superb!!
