REVIEW:
I read the description of this book and it sounded interesting, but then I opened it and saw it was horror! I don’t do horror. But I thought it’s only 65 pages, I can do it…. Well, it wasn’t the least bit scary.
This will be short, the book is only 65 pages.
Matt Jaxx lives in San Francisco, works for a computer company, but decides to start working as a stripper. He starts off at a nicer theater, discovers he can make more money at a sleazy one, and starts to dance there. He gets more money, but also a creepy stalker. He meets a nice guy that lives in his building and has some sex. Some drama happens and it’s over.
I didn’t find it scary, there is no mystery, we know who the creepy guy is. There was no romance, only one overdone sex scene, and the big good thing that happens to Matt is completely unrealistic! Way too much time is spent on nothing, descriptions of dancing, music and such, and not enough time spent developing a plot. There is no back story, I didn’t care about Matt, and we don’t get to know his love interest Justin, at all. There are also quite a few editing issues. But I will say it was quick! I didn’t hate it, but I can’t say I really liked it either. It’s too short to really get a feel for the author’s style or writing skill.
