REVIEW:

Kieran and his baby Micah have ended up in Oro Escondido after he ends up pregnant and alone.  Turns out that his son’s family was trying to use Kieran and when the father left him alone, Kieran had his baby all on his own and ended up in Oro Escondido with a dragon wing that was determined to protect him.

Lachlan is one of the guardians of the wing and he’s taken Kieran in.  He’s gentle and kind and he doesn’t push Kieran to to more than he’s comfortable with socially.  Kieran is terrified that something will happen to Micah and he doesn’t trust that they will be safe at first.  The more time he spends with Lachlan and his brother and his mate and their child and the other children of the wing as well as the other house dragons, the more he thinks that maybe he can belong here.

Lachlan knows that Kieran is his mate.  He’s determined to take care of both Kieran and Micah.  He will protect both with his life – although he certainly hopes it doesn’t come to that.  He encourages Kieran to spend more time out of his rooms and with the other dragon guardians and their mates and kids.  He particularly wants Micah to get the benefit of interacting with other children – which Micah seems to love.

Eventually Kieran gets to the point that he trusts Lachlan. He knows that Lachlan cares for him and he knows that the can be safe here in Oro Escondido with the this wing.  They aren’t like other wings and will definitely do what it takes to protect him and Micah.  Kieran realizes that he cares for Lachlan as much as Lachlan cares for him and he carefully takes their relationship to another level.  Soon there is a new baby on the way!

This is a cute and sweet story.  The angsty part of the story happens before this book starts really.  Kieran is dealing with this PTSD around what happened when he ended up pregnant and alone.  Lachlan is his pillar of strength, giving him every reason to trust him.  There are still obstacles though, like Micah’s father and his family.  There are joyful moments as well though with Micah’s familiar and the new baby 🙂  This story fits in well with this series and I enjoyed getting to see Lachlan and Kieran both get the happily ever after they deserved.  Recommended.
