Idol AU is a MM fanfiction style novel, based on the Canon short story written by AM Rose for the multi author series Because Canon Sucks. In Canon, Milo and Rowan miss out on their happy ever after, so this series strives to give them one in every other universe.

What happens when an innocent short story about two mismatched men accidentally meet at an airport and have a short moment and then go off on there own ways and a group of authors revolt? That’s exactly what happens in this new series. Authors decided to each create an alternate universe where these two characters get their HEA that never happened. (A free copy of the short story -24 pages- that stared all this controversy is available on the BookFunnel Download Page and I recommend it to get a lot of the key inside jokes and why something is in the alternate universe story.)
Rowan Rangecroft is the ultimate professional at his job. And his boss Price knows that he can count on this bodyguard employee to keep their clients safe and doing their jobs without interference. It’s who he is. Even his ex’s complained he was cold and emotionally unavailable. So when Price assigns their newest client, America’s Darling – Milo Tobitt, on a trial basis to see if he passes Milo’s “vibe check”. If so, he will be assigned permanently to the A-list celebrity. What Rowan never expected was how much they clicked and he has to work to not catch feelings!!!
I loved this story! I was sure it was gonna be hard to match the level of story we got with Dragon AU that I just finished. I am thrilled that I was completely wrong. This story went a completely different direction. Yes, they are still Milo and Rowan. And yes, they get their well-earned and deserved HEA that fell so short of the mark in the short story this is an Alternate Universe fan-fiction type story series. But they are completely different men. And the bodyguard and the Music Star Idol falling for each other while Rowan struggled so hard against those urges and feelings was perfection. And yes, he tried so hard. But he was no match for his little chaos goblin no matter how often he chanted “Milo Tobitt is off-limits, and there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it!” in his head!!!
I loved all the side friends of Milo’s, especially Ethel and Ray. And Rowan’s family was a hoot. They made so many of the scenes. I wish that these books could turn into series of their own. I really, really want to see Ray get his own HEA. And Ruben too!
This had an amazing epilogue that gave me the final touches I needed to know that my boys were happy and well loved.
