HAZARD

Joining the infamous Mike Bravo Ops to meet the godfather I never knew doesn’t go the way I expect. I’m hoping to meet the man I’ve only read about in my late father’s journals, someone who’s warm, caring, and a ride or die. But when I arrive, all I get is coldness and hostility from someone who doesn’t even want to know me.
I don’t understand how he can be the same man my father wrote so passionately about. Or why I find him annoyingly attractive.

DECAF

I’ve been through a lot in my lifetime—rejection from my family, enlisting in the military, a literal warzone—but nothing, nothing, comes close to the day I lost my best friend.
He’s the reason I have nightmares and hate sleeping, the reason I drink so much coffee. Now, his grown son shows up in my life, and there are so many reasons I don’t want him anywhere near me. Mike Bravo Ops is dangerous, and if Hazard stays here, there’s no way I can fulfil the promise I made to his father to protect him. The best way I can do that is if he stays as far away from me as possible.
But he has a familiar stubborn streak, and when he refuses to leave, he gives me no choice but to commit to my protector role.
If only I didn’t find it so confusing.
We have a connection, but how genuine can it be when the ghost of his father haunts us both?

REVIEW:

I have read all the books in this series and I have to say I’m sorry it’s coming to an end.

No one is harder on Decaf than Decaf. He’s never forgiven himself for what happened to his best friend. And the last thing he ever expected was for the man’s son to walk into Mike Bravo Ops…it’s his worst nightmare. Especially because he can’t stop looking at Hazard…he’s going to Hell, he’s sure of it.

Hazard went looking for a legend and found something better. One look at Decaf and Hazard realizes that the man is not the father figure he assumed he’d be. And it’s definitely not “family” feelings that keep making Hazard act stupid around the handsome, funny, stubborn jerk that Decaf has turned out to be.

I love the camaraderie of these books. The sense of found family for a bunch of men who find themselves on the outskirts of society even though they are doing their best to make the world a better place.

I’ve been waiting for a book that brings the current situation in the States into the storyline and I sadly feel like this situation could end up being all too real. The author did a great job of making the reader a part of the story and it really broke my heart a bit.

I do enjoy catching up with old friends and that’s what this book feels like. Iris, Lemon, Rogue, Zeus and all the rest are the kind of guys I’d love to have a beer with and laugh my butt off listening to their stories about the shenanigans they get up to.

Of course, this author also excels at smoking hot sexy times. I found myself looking for a cold shower a time or two, but I appreciate she let the action and the relationships between all the men take center stage instead of one long sex scene.

I’m going to miss these stories, because I always knew I would be smiling at the end, but fortunately, this author has a lot of other interesting things going on, so I guess I will go hunting through their catalogue for something to catch my eye.

If you like kick ass guys who will do anything for each other and who are on the brighter side of the “morally grey” team, this book is for you.
