BLURB:
When Lane realizes he’s attracted to his straight stepbro, he’s absolutely thunderstruck . . .
It’s not the worst day of Lane’s life when his team, the Toronto Thunder, drafts his baby stepbro, Trevor, but it’s close.
No. The worst day was when his mom married Trevor’s dad. Trevor’s just too good, too naïve, too sheltered. Too hot.
Lane might claim he wants nothing to do with him, but that’s the worst delusion of all. He’s always wanted everything to do with Trevor. Even when they have zero in common. Even when Trevor’s always been on the straight and narrow. Literally.
Lane’s the total opposite. He’s walked—and danced and sashayed—to the beat of his own drum, forever. Mentoring Trevor now that they’re on the same team? Sounds like his idea of hell—and heaven, too. There’s a reason their teammates call them the demon twins.
But with the final few games of the season and the Thunders’ playoff run looming, Lane’s self-control is weaker than ever. Especially when Trevor confesses that he’s been thinking about it, too.
Suggesting Trevor experiment with their mutual attraction would be a terrible idea, but Lane’s had worse, and that’s never stopped him before.
And when it becomes way more than just sex? When Trevor becomes the first guy he wants to see in the mornings and the last thing before he goes to bed at night? When they’re so completely entangled together that he couldn’t get free, even if he wanted to?
That’s a special kind of thunder.
REVIEW:
We finally get the Demon Twins story and it was sooooo worth the wait!!!
Lane can’t believe his line of luck. First, the guy he had been crushing on his senior year turned out to be his Mom’s new boyfriend’s son. Then they get married and it’s even more awkward but that burning desire just never faded. No one floated his boat as much as Trevor. Trevor, who is both straight and off-limits! So distance it the best solution in Lane’s mind. But then the unimaginable (and worst case scenario for Lane) happens when Trevor gets drafted onto Lane’s NFL team, the Toronto Thunder. Now rooming with Trevor and making sure all goes well is his life…just shoot me! But Trevor’s declaration, just before the playoffs…blows his mind! Can his dreams become reality???
I love bi-awakening stories but really loved that Trevor’s Dad not only accepted his discovery but, being the Doctor he is, explained that Trevor was probably demisexual. That’s a really loving and cool father to have. Add in Lane’s Mom Delia, who accepted Trevor as her own when she and Tom got married, and they are simply great parents. And they are both happy with Trevor and Lane together was the icing on the cake! These men were truly blessed with loving and accepting parents that just wanted the best for their two boys and their blended family. Labels like step-brothers weren’t important. But family was and still is!
I did kinda wish that they had talked more but understood how all of this was hard to swallow. Lane not believing how his dreams were being answered after six plus years of yearning. And Trevor discovering who he really is and whom he truly desired. So figuring out relationship stuff was awkward and difficult for both very inexperienced in love men.
I did love that everyone thought Cheerleader Sophie only wanted Trevor for a meal ticket and being a NFL wife. And that he was rid of her. She was bad news that wouldn’t have ended well if something happened to Trevor.
This book finishes up Season One of the Toronto Thunder but don’t worry. Season Two is coming early in 2027 and it promises more of our favorite football stars and their teammates.
