At this point is there anything K.C, Wells can’t write… I don’t think there is. K.C. is one of the most versatile writers I have ever had the privilege to meet and read her brilliant works of art. I will say that when I chose to read and review this book, I wasn’t sure I would like it, as I do her other works. I am not really a fan of BDSM books and feared I wouldn’t like this one. But here is what I have to say about that… this book was fabulous and it does harken back to some of K.C.’s earlier works in the BDSM genre. This one however, doesn’t overwhelm the reader with the BDSM. In fact, I would say it was low on the kink scale. So, in fact yes, I thoroughly enjoyed this new story from K.C.
Her world building in this story is just beautifully done. From England to Germany, the backdrop is woven into the storyline and brings out the romantic side of these countries. We have the inclusion of a very specific kink scene, that embraces the Folsom Europe event as its own character in the book.
As I have come to expect, K.C. creates such beautiful, detailed and brilliant characters in this book. She takes the time to create well rounded back stories for each of her main characters. Even the side characters get the same well rounded treatment. I felt like we the reader are granted a very intimate look at two men’s journeys to their happy ever after.
This book was beautifully constructed. I found the story telling to create a very intimate look into a very niche lifestyle and how these men find their way to this world. It doesn’t smack you over the head with lifestyle details but instead incorporates the lifestyle into the very basic day to day human experience. We see Kieran progress from a married man to discovering his love for a wonderful man in Stefan and embracing a completely different lifestyle than what he pictured for himself. Stefan becomes a sort of spiritual awakening for Kieran and as the story progresses, he introduces him to an alternative lifestyle, that they both wholly embrace. At this point I would like to briefly touch on the main character being a pianist. As some of these scenes unfolded, I could almost hear the piano music wafting up from the pages of this book. Just Brilliant!!!I don’t think AI could’ve done that. Her writing always makes me feel something and this book is no different. Is Kieran cleared of all wrongdoing? Do Kieran and Stefan get their HEA? Will Stefan help Kieran embrace the Leather lifestyle? Well, Darlings, I am not going to reveal these details… You must grab a copy for yourself and find out.
Once again, I highly recommend this new story from K.C. Wells. You need to run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and snatch up this book in a heartbeat. You won’t regret it.
