REVIEW:
What could be better than an adorable Unicorn Little that loves trains being the one to rescue a down-on-his-luck former Rock Star that needs someone to believe in the man he can become.
Payden Walters has had a string of bad daddies. He’s just too much and they dump him as soon as they get what they really were after. But the final blow is that his current daddy dumps him, by text, at the train station just as they were ready to embark on his first train ride. Something he saved hard for from his journalist job to pay for as a treat for the undeserving man. But life takes an unexpected route when Payden discovers a gorgeous man singing like an angel at the next train station. Stone Montgomery had it all and it blew up and fell apart when his band “Savage Destruction” self imploded due to excess. Now he just tries to keep himself fed daily by preforming in parks, and now train platforms, for the crumpled dollars thrown in his guitar case while playing. When Payden convinces Stone to hop on board with him for rest of his vacation, they never expected to find what each had been unconsciously searching for in their lives. But can the unconventional Daddy and his Little Unicorn boy keep the adventure going once the train reaches its final station?
This was such a sweet story. I loved that Stone wasn’t a traditional Daddy-type but got in and played with his boy instead of just watching. I don’t know if it’s left over from his sad years grown up in the foster system when he never got to be just a kid enjoying life or a bit of left over adrenaline rush he has chased his earlier life as a rock star. But it was a joy to see a Daddy participating with his boy instead of casually watching. And making Payden happy and smile became his whole purpose in life. Plus, Payden was the perfect match for Stone. He had so much energy but being with Stone became the most important thing in his life. This may have been seen as insta-love to some. But I felt it was more that the fates put these two together at that precise moment because they truly were meant for each other.
I absolutely loved that we got to catch up with the Masterson family. This found family of musicians and their management team that have become a found family to each other. It was the perfect fit for Stone. Easton not only believes in “family first” but makes sure those in his employment and under contract with him live that motto. So it was the perfect way to put Stone’s talent and expertise into use and still allow him the life he craves with Payden. Such a win-win for both Stone and us readers. Stone gets the life he was destined to live and we readers got to connect back with some of our favorite rockers!
I truly enjoyed this story. Yes, it was hard to see Payden so crushed by that horrible man that pretended to be his daddy (and no that title was not his so it didn’t deserve to be capitalized) and then dumped him via text (who but a slimy coward does that to someone he was suppose to care about 😡) Payden had scrimped and saved to give this trip to the man. But the shining glory to all that is that it lead him to Stone and the person who truly deserved to be beside the Little Uni on his grand adventure. Plus, you just knew that Stone would pick himself up and succeed because he wanted to be the man that deserved someone as truly special as his Payden is. He just needed someone to believe in him. And it’s no wonder that Payden is so special after we met his parents. They really just want the best for their special boy and realized quickly the Stone was the best for their sweet boy.
I love multi-author themed series and this one is truly special! Hope you enjoy Little Uni Payden and his Daddy Stone’s grand adventure. I am hoping that we will catch up to them again soon in more Masterson Management stories to come!
