Theo
I’m just me—plain, boring Theo. Everyone’s friend but no one’s boyfriend. Dating apps don’t work for me, and the one time I try to change my image is a total disaster.
All I want is someone to come home to and hold hands with. A boyfriend who’ll love me. It doesn’t help that I have this silly crush on Jaxon Polaris, our sexy, gorgeous, district attorney. He’s a flirt who’s never without a date. No matter how nice he is to me, I know the truth. A man like Jaxon would never be interested in someone like me.
Jaxon
I love being the district attorney of Appleton Falls, but I definitely have dreams of sitting on the bench. When the leader of the party approaches me, suggesting I run for a judgeship, I’m thrilled…until he tells me my image as a party boy might hurt me with small-town voters. I can’t deny it—I’ve had more than my share of lovers, and I’ve never hidden my desire to remain single. His suggestion? Find a nice guy and make him my boyfriend.
Problem is, I don’t know any nice guys…except shy, quiet Theo Sweeny.
Reluctantly, Theo agrees to my boyfriend proposal, and the man proceeds to challenge me at every turn. Shy? He’s stubborn and feisty. But his kisses are so sweet, and I can’t stop thinking about him. Being with Theo means I’ll have to tell him my truth—a secret that could prevent me from achieving my dreams. But the more I get to know Theo, the more I come to realize: Win or lose the election, what I’m searching for might be right here by my side.
REVIEW:
I have been excited to be finally getting sweet Theo’s book. I love Appleton Falls and how protective they all are of this wonderful man.
Theo hasn’t had an easy life and the townsfolk of Appleton Falls know it. He owns and operates Sweeny’s, the town’s local bar and grill. He inherited it from his father, who was a hard man and a mean drunk. All he wants is a man to spend his time with when he’s not working and cuddle at night. But he seems to attract the wrong type because all he has gotten is a random guy for a one and done. And now the most gorgeous single man in town wants to date him. The problem is Jaxon it’s a known serial dater. He doesn’t do love and he doesn’t do white picket fences. When Jaxon finally get Theo who agreed to his crazy fake boyfriend proposal he believes he has it made. Life has taught him that love isn’t real. But becoming a judge is and he needs to date and look like a solid citizen. But what happens when each man starts catching feelings?
I wasn’t sure that Jaxon could pull this off with me. I understood why everyone was concerned about Theo getting hurt. They all know his backstory. They know what he went through living with his mean drunk father and that his mother had run off and abandoning him. They all just want sweet Theo to find the kind of love they’ve all started finding. Like Jet and the other guys, I was worried about Theo being crushed after this is all over. Jaxon was a well known player. But he did lay it all out for Theo. My problem was that Theo wanted…no needed love in his lonely life. And I was sure that he would fall for Jaxon even though Jaxon made it clear that this was all fake so he could win his bid for Judge. What I never saw coming was that Jaxon would catch true, honest feelings for the sweet bar owner. Both these men deserved having a honest, loving relationship after what they endured in their childhood.
I love this series and all the men I have enjoyed meeting throughout this series and the series that spun-off to get us to Appleton Falls. Lots of great cameos from couples we love. I believe this might be the final book in this heart warming series and I’m personally going to miss visiting this wonderful town and its residents.
