He’s given up on finding love, only for temptation to move in next door…
RAJ
I didn’t expect to work undercover again after I left the Special Forces, but when former employees start disappearing from a fae-run warehouse which has links to a serial killer, I’ll do whatever it takes to solve the mystery. Of course, that’s when help arrives in the flirtatious form of my Deaf neighbour and his unique ability.
It’s too bad I don’t screw around on the job, because between Bryn’s sexy tattoos and silvery-blue eyes, he’s got temptation written all over him.
BRYN
After three years in prison, being forced to work for the fae responsible for my incarceration makes it hard to let go of the idea of revenge. It would be easier to rebuild my life if my dragon side didn’t want to hide under a blanket, but my days get infinitely more interesting when I meet my gorgeous tiger shifter neighbour at work.
I use all my charm to try to convince him his first time with a man should be with me, but when things take a dangerous turn, protecting him is suddenly all that matters.
REVIEW:
After about a year-long wait, we get the second installment of Soldati Security. You probably don’t need to read the first book, but I highly recommend you do, as it really sets this world up and introduces all of the Lupo Pack members. This is a pack made up of various shifter species and even a vampire. They are the newly contracted supe police/security force. Raj is a sophisticated tiger shifter and beta and best friend to Alpha Ethan.
Ethan sends Raj on an undercover mission at a company suspected of being involved with some missing shifters. This company also works as a somewhat halfway house for ex-cons who finish out their sentence through a work-release program with the company. Bryn is a dragon shifter who is now out of prison and employed at this company. There is quite a bit more to Bryn’s story about how/why he ended up in prison to begin with, what he endured there and now his issues at work. He is starting over living with his brother who happens to have Raj as his neighbor. Bryn immediately takes to Raj and makes it is mission to woo the tiger any way he can.
I loved Bryn. He has a great personality and is generally positive and fun even after all he has endured. He believes he and Raj are mates but doesn’t push it, other than wanting a relationship with him regardless of the mating. Raj takes a little convincing, not wanting to date someone he works with, his undercover status, etc. He also doesn’t believe they are mates but eventually agrees he wants to explore a relationship as well.
Dragon shifters and various other species of shifters are always fun reads for me. We get a little of everything with the Lupo Pack. It is made up of a plethora of interesting characters who have all become a found family that now includes the three adopted dragons (i.e. Bryn, and his brother and sister). Ethan is still a great pack leader, and Ayo is still a friend to all and working hard on perfecting his magic. The story comes full circle here with Ayo’s cousin and the Manor’s renovations, all while the missing shifters aspect plays out.
Side note – I loved the surprise Bryn and the others had for Raj at the end. It really summed up the meaning behind found family and was just a nice heartwarming little addition to the story.
If you’re looking for a creative new world with interesting and endearing characters, be sure to give this series a go. I’m excited for the next installment where we get to see how the Detective Idris situation plays out involving the resident Lupo pack hawk shifter, Skye.
