BLURB:

Spencer Phillips has it all figured out. He’s rocking his academic scholarship, he’s got his two ride-or-die besties by his side, and he has an endless supply of no-strings hookups to keep him entertained. And sure, he hasn’t been quite so interested in pursuing those hookups lately. And yeah, both his besties have found true love without him. But still, Spencer’s coasting along just fine. Right? Right.

But when Spencer stumbles into the first, unexpected heat of his bestie’s younger brother, things no longer make such perfect sense. Because Ash and his ever-present alpha shadow, Ryder, seem to want Spencer to stay. Not just stay but…participate.

Which would all be fine. Bros helping bros, no harm done. But Ash and Ryder aren’t treating Spencer like a tool to get through a slew of unpredictable heats. They’re treating Spencer like he’s something special. Maybe even someone they might want to stick around. And suddenly Spencer isn’t coasting along anymore. Instead, he’s keeping secrets, fighting feelings, and maybe betraying one of his favorite people in the world.

So yeah, turns out maybe Spencer has nothing figured out at all.

HIGH ACHIEVER IS A CONTEMPORARY MMM OMEGAVERSE WITH NO MPREG. IT FEATURES UNPREDICTABLE HEAT SHENANIGANS; ALPHA X ALPHA X OMEGA DYNAMICS; FIRST TIMES; INEPT ATTEMPTS AT WOOING; AND A GOOD-HEARTED, HORNY FLIRT JUST TRYING TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY.

REVIEW:

And now the roommates story I’ve been waiting eagerly for!

Spencer is a lot to put up with and he knows it. He’s just too much! He’s had it drilled into his head by all his mom’s ex-husbands! He knows that his roomies, Chase and Noah tolerate it because they are all each other’s best friends. But now that his besties have discovered their mates he is a bit of drift. They try to help still, but they’re busy with their own men. So he has become a once-and-done kind of guy and has a reputation all over campus to prove it. But it turns out it’s a defense mechanism more than anything else. Heck, it’s the reason that Noah and Eli actually were at the cabins alone together. But when his best friend’s little brother and his quasi-Alpha mate need help because Ash has finally presented as a omega, and is in heat, and wants Spencer too! But Spencer knows it’s just because he’s an extra willing warm body so don’t get attached. But that’s not what Ash and Ryder want at all. And Ash wants Spencer to keep it all a secret from his perfect Alpha brother Noah for the time being. But how can they make this work while bearing a secret?

I hate the fact that someone made someone is sweet, loving and cuddly as had Spencer be afraid of his own true nature. It’s just wrong! Just because he presented as an alpha doesn’t mean that he can’t want all the cuddles in the world and need the love and attention that might have been held back a little bit too much when he was young by his mom. So becoming what everyone thinks is a slut protects him from them knowing his true nature. I don’t even know if Noah and Chase realize how deep this goes. I know Noah never understood that’s why Spencer didn’t go to the cabin with him. But Spencer is loving by nature and protecting his Bestie was of utmost importance. Not getting to spend time with him because he was afraid he would be too much is really sad. I love that the stoic Ryder what’s the one who truly figured out who Spencer is and what Spencer needs. And Spencer allowed Ryder to put forth his dominant nature. Add in the bossy and mouthy Ash and this truly is the perfect triad for all of them. Keeping it a secret from Noah was a huge mistake, but no one should be forced to out themselves until they’re ready. And that’s what would’ve happened. The circumstances of this all coming out were harsh and hurtful, as expected. But I had full faith that Spencer and Noah would work it out. They loved each other as brothers and nothing was really going to come between that once Noah knew the whole story.

Adding in Everett to include Spencer in the omega group was a perfect solution into having a place that’s where Ash could ask questions and get answers. I’m hoping Everett book is next look in this wonderful series. And I can’t wait for more!
