BLURB:

It’s a good thing I’ve sworn off men because Old Jensen would have taken one look at my new boss and spontaneous heat would have been a real threat.

He’s an alpha and an English nobleman. A mannered man who employed me to restore the library at Beaumont Craven House. He’s impossibly attractive and also straight up impossible.

He’s hard to draw out, quiet, and broody. His behavior is often as confusing as it is mysterious.
Unfortunately for me, he has a sweet side I find impossible to resist.

It isn’t long before the lord’s sad backstory has me going above and beyond the requirements of my job description.

It’s fine though. It’s a casual arrangement, and I can keep things casual. I definitely can.

It’s just that my body—and my heart—don’t seem to agree.

Born Wild is a contemporary MM omegaverse, featuring a positively intoxicating alpha, an omega who might have let books like Wuthering Heights and The Secret Garden go to his head, and a swoony love story that will leave you convinced that sometimes fate decides who we love.

REVIEW:

Second book in the Wild Hearts series and I enjoyed it very much.

Jensen moves away from Seattle to England, looking for a fresh start. In fact, it’s not every day that your omega ex boyfriend/best friend in the world unexpectedly mates with your alpha big brother; so, once again, Jensen feels abandoned and lonely. All his life he had to put up with an overbearing alpha mother and two alpha brothers and all the expectations that society has about omegas.
So, in order to try something new, he accepts his dream job and goes to live in the English countryside to restore the library of an old manor.

Lord Alfred Augustus is an isolated broody alpha, his contacts with the external world are minimal, he lives alone in his manor, surrounded only by his devoted employees and his horses.
When Jensen meets him for the first time, he’s shocked to realise that the Lord smells like nothing: in their world, smells and scents are everything and he’s unable to understand how the Lord can live without his most powerful senses.

I was surprised when the story unfolds and we get to know about the condition that afflicts Alfie: it was an unusual take on the omegaverse and I really adored that Alfie and Jensen fell in love with each other outside of a heat or a rut, like they were truly destined to be together and their chemical compatibility had nothing to do with it. Alfie became protective of Jensen before scenting him, they spent their days together, like their afternoons in the library (that were so incredibly tender), before even knowing that they were mates.

I also loved that, as the story progressed, Jensen made peace with Branson and Lucien, he got close to them again and they mended their relationship. Jensen and Lucien were best friends, they’ve supported each other for years and I’m happy they’re besties again.

The epilogue was so sweet, I think Alfie gave Jensen the gift that all us booklovers crave, but I greedly wanted more of their life together after bonding.
And Jesse, what does it mean you don’t know when and if you’re going to write other books in this series??? Wilder (Jensen’s other alpha brother) and his best friend Christian are on an adventure in Europe and you’re not going to spill the tea about them? I’m seriously begging you here, I hope their story will come out soon.
