Synopsis
Lexa never really knew what it meant to live until she was condemned to die.
Framed for a crime she’d never even contemplated, Lexa Mercer’s doing thirty days or death on the Intergalactic Broadcasting Channel’s hit reality show Nariasma. She owes her life to one of the show’s hottest contestants — and a ghost of a man no one is supposed to know exists.
Roan of the Northlands is a man made famous by enduring his sentence on the space station Nariasma. Lexa has seen the rugged hunk on television, but she never imagined he’d be rescuing her from hunters who’ve paid to kill criminals.
Roan’s strange companion Jenner is convinced Lexa is the key to their freedom. Surviving and keeping her alive is just part of the challenge. Now Roan has more to lose than his future. He’s made the mistake of falling in love with Lexa, and that makes him the one thing he’s never been on Nariasma — vulnerable.
Roan and Jenner will give all they’ve got to protect Lexa. Jenner’s convinced she’s the only one who can save them. But does she have the strength to change their reality?

“This is not a pair bond if you both claim her,” replied an unfamiliar voice.
“This is a true bond. The bond we have is as real as any other. We’ll fight for her,” Jenner declared.
Lexa patted the ground around her. She was lying on some sort of branch and fiber bed.
Jenner and Roan came to stand closer to her, their bodies in a protective stance as a group of tall, shadowy males followed them. Terror filled her. For all her brave talk of not belonging to them, on some bizarre, primal level, the idea of being with Roan and Jenner didn’t make her feel wronged. Instead, the thought made her hot.
“Prove she is yours. If the woman rejects you then we all have equal right to claim her,” the outspoken one demanded.
“I’m theirs,” she declared before she could chicken out.
Her men both gave her sharp glances. In the firelight, she could see Jenner’s was amused but Roan’s was surprised and slightly suspicious.
“It is settled. The girl, Lexa, belongs to us as if we each had a pair bond with her. Any man who tries to touch her will die.” Roan’s tone was deadly.
The group took a step back in unison. Lexa could see the movement was an unconscious gesture of acceptance. She was wide awake now.
“Prove you belong to them. Show us you accept them both.” The instigator wasn’t letting it drop.
Lexa looked up at her two warriors uncertainly. She was sore and hungry. The last thing she wanted to do was participate in a spectacle of sexcapades for anyone’s amusement.
“We owe none of you any demonstration.” Roan’s voice sounded bitter. Lexa could see his body stiffen and his fists clench.
Barbarian wasn’t a strong enough word for them. Animals. These men had allowed this terrible place to strip away all trace of their humanity.
Roan and Jenner weren’t exactly proper gentlemen, but they seemed far more evolved than the rest of their “tribe.” She’d never be able to fight off one of them, let alone seven, if they decided to rape her. She’d heard of female contestants dying off camera. Now she wondered if prisoners raped each other to death. IBC had good reason to keep such a horrible thing a secret. People might start questioning the morality of the privatization of the prison system again.
She looked up at her protectors. I can’t believe I’m going to say this. “I belong to them — both. I will make love to them if that will satisfy your curiosity. I don’t want any trouble.”
The leader of the wild men crossed his arms over his chest. She wasn’t sure what would happen if they didn’t believe her, but she had a feeling it wouldn’t be good.
Roan and Jenner were two against seven, and she’d be more of a burden than a help in honest to goodness hand-to-hand combat.
“I’m theirs,” she reiterated.
