REVIEW:
This is the third book in the series Executive Suite Secrets from Ms. Jocelynn Drake and here we will learn the back story between the friendship of Liam Rose and Rome Ashbury. Childhood friends who became estranged when something really significant happened when they were really young. Hurt, confusion. Parents’ meddling (Liam’s Mom specifically) and misunderstanding broke them apart until the time when Liam moved to Cincinnati, where Rome and his friends presently live.
Rome and his friends, Sebastian, Declan and Pierce are rich and living their amazing lives, successful and happy. Sebastian and Declan have found their partners in life and living a life that Rome wishes for himself.
Liam and Rome were childhood friends but something happened when they were young that changed their lives and they haven’t seen each other since. They didn’t know what happened to the other one until one night while attending the performance of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Rome saw Liam unexpectedly. In that encounter, Rome learned that Liam works at the museum.
Liam’s Boss on the other hand, when she saw Liam talking to Rome during the party after the concert, she immediately talked to Liam and told him to secure a donation from Rome’s charity foundation for their department. She also mentioned that his job’s security depends on obtaining that said donation. Liam is at a loss, when he and Rome got separated all those years ago, it wasn’t on good terms. They are estranged and they hate each other’s guts. But he has to find a way to do or else he loses his job.
When Rome and Liam did meet, all the anger and mistrust was still there and they each did something to one another that warranted pulling one over the other person. But in the end though, Liam told Rome what his boss asked him to do. And because of what happened all those years ago, they didn’t trust each other. But as Rome thought about it, there is one condition he would propose to Liam in order for his charity to give that donation, he wants Liam to take him out on five dates for the 5 Million they are asking for.
As they went on these dates, they got to know each other all over again, this time as adults. Although they needed to talk about what happened all those years ago, they both didn’t want to ruin this new friendship blossoming between them. Or did what happened in the past forever damaged their friendship forever?
These two beautiful humans’ lives changed because of that fateful day when they were teenagers, each harbored anger and regret over the loss of friendship but they are given another chance and they both took it amidst all the feelings of anger and regret. They are brave and lucky because this second chance has also given them the chance that was theirs all along. They are meant to be together as friends, lovers and who knows, soulmates.
Beautiful Ms. Jocelynn Drake, I love the back story and the rekindling of friendship, as well as the brotherhood that is always there for Rome and that includes Liam now. These friends have been there for each other and it is amazing to read about people who would go to such lengths for their friends.
