There is nothing more annoying than Christmas…
I see the irony of being the owner of a Christmas tree farm and hating the very holiday that keeps my family business alive, but Christmas Falls takes this season way too seriously with their festive business names to the sheer merriment that envelops the entire town.
I’m no grinch, but I can relate to one being surrounded by all this jubilance. It doesn’t help when a new part-timer joins the tree farm and is the very embodiment of joy, starting from his name—Felix Joy.
He’s ten years younger than me, and I feel the age difference every second I interact with him. His enthusiasm exhausts me, yet I can’t stay away, even if it means I have to deal with the ridiculous nickname he forces onto me.
He’s melting the fatigue of Christmas, but I’ll never admit it. I’m ready for all the blinding lights to come down, for him to leave, and to finally get some peace and quiet.
Christmas Falls is a multi-author M/M romance series set in a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie.
REVIEW:
Whilst this is the only book in the series, I am reviewing for LoveBytes I have really enjoyed all the Christmas Falls book I have read so far. This is a great multi authored series that you don’t need to have read in order or in its entirety to enjoy the individual books. The books may have been written by different authors, but they all go together very well.
If you have read the other books in the series you will have come across Bruce the very grumpy and not into Christmas at all Christmas tree farm. He has taken it over from his parents and his brothers both help him and he enjoys it. He doesn’t need anything else and he certainly doesn’t need a relationship with anyone.
When his Mum hires a new seasonal worker that looks like an angel and is full of Christmas joy his world starts to shift.
Felix Joy has come to Christmas Falls to escape his small town where he is known as his parents Christmas miracle and the whole town has seen pictures of him as baby in a nappy with angel wings on. He wants to become Felix a person in his own right.
Working on the Christmas tree farm and making friends with Kaysen the youngest brother are good for Felix’s soul. He likes Christmas Falls and having a gorgeous older boss to ogle is even better. Felix knows that Bruce behind all the bluster is really a gentle giant because of the way he interacts with his family.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I have really enjoyed it . This another easy and also engaging Christmas story. I wanted to find out more about the characters and it was nice the way that we gradually knew more about them through their interactions with the side characters, so for example Felix talking to his best friend back home or Bruce teasing his little brother.
I am looking forward to reading the others in the series.
