Aiden has been solitary a long time when he inherits his aunt’s daughter, who he calls his niece, through a terrible accident. He’s not sure how to raise her or keep her safe, which seems even worse when Griff shows up. But then he realizes he and Griff are mates, and that he’s not solitary anymore. Can he convince Griff they’re meant to be together and keep the rest of the world, including whoever is watching them, at bay?
REVIEW:
Yippee! We get to see another solitary dragon meet his mate!
Griffin has been on his research project up on the mountains. His professor says that a previous worker though that there might be dragons but no one has seen them except Griffin. And Griffin knows he has to keep quiet and doesn’t trust anyone with that knowledge. He just knows, deep in his being, that he has to go warn these dragons he’s spotted that they are being watched and might be in danger. Aiden had known that he was meant to have a solitary life. However, when his aunt and her mate cross over the veil he is suddenly in charge of his sweet little niece Lila’s well-being. He knows he has to care for and protector her at all costs. When a very handsome grad student gets hurt trying to come warn them of the danger he knows he has to take care of him. What he doesn’t realize is that his mate just stepped into their lives.
I love that Griffin’s Dads had raised him on stories of dragons, of their myths and magic. So dragons were not a shock to him but something to be protected and in awe of. I’m not sure if they were dragons or had found him and raised him but he was all dragon even though it was a bit late presenting. And Aiden figured it all out pretty quickly with the aid of sweet and spunky Lila. That baby girl was a firecracker and wise beyond her years. I can totally see her following in Stormy’s (who I was thrilled to see made and appearance and I believe will be the common thread in these delightful novellas) footsteps as a dragon midwife.
I am really enjoying this new series of dragons finding their mates that don’t know that they are dragons and the family that follows. These men were never meant to be solitary and it seems that Stormy had that covered 😉
