I’ve got a reputation as too quick to fall in love among the merry band of misfits I co-own Tap That Brewery with. Relationships are all rainbows and unicorns until I inevitably get dumped. I’ve had enough of being kicked to the curb, so I make a dating hiatus my New Year’s resolution.
My resolve is challenged when I keep bumping into a gorgeous guy whose “date me” vibes are as potent as his pheromones. Resolution aside, I don’t even have time for romance because I’ve got to help my great-aunt save her house—the one place I felt safe in as a kid. But when I discover the gorgeous guy is not only hot but an attorney who might be able to help me? I get an idea that just might put my resolution to the test…
Parker
I’m on the cusp of being named the youngest partner in my law firm’s history. Except for the pesky detail that I’m unattached, and no single attorney has been promoted to partner. I never fail when I set my mind to something. If only I had a boyfriend to help me seal the deal.
But how am I going to find a boyfriend when I can barely manage to sleep with my workload? When a cute guy with an addictive smile proposes an arrangement that might get me the promotion of my dreams, there’s a chance I could have it all. As long as he doesn’t object first.
Eternal Hoptimist is a low angst, steamy, and sweet MM contemporary romance about two men who fake date their way to love. It’s book two in the Tap That Brewery series, which features four best friends who co-own a queer brewery together. It’s full of teasing as a love language, found family, spicy education, and a small town you’ll wish you could visit. Each book can be read as a standalone, though you may find it most enjoyable to read the series in order. The jokes hit better that way. Happily ever afters are guaranteed, and no cliffhangers!
REVIEW:
I was so excited to get to go back to visit Dahlia Springs and hang with my favorite brewers!
Ethan is the money man and front guy at Tap That Brewery. He’s the face of all the guy’s dream and the smile that makes everyone happy that they dropped in. He’s also the one that is constantly searching for is one. The person that he is suppose to spend his happily ever after with. When he once again gets left high and dry the eternal optimist decides that his New Year’s resolution is to take a break from dating. Parker has been driven all his life. He has rose to the top of every since he was back in school. He was HS Student Body President, president of the student senate as an undergrad and won the Student Bar Association presidency in law school. Becoming the youngest partner ever at the prestigious Sullivan Brothers law firm will be the next feather in his overfilled cap. Just one petty thing stands in his way…the firm believes in partners being family people. But with all the hours he puts in how is that even possible? When a chance meeting on NYE puts both men together it’s obvious sparks fly but Ethan has made it clear he’s on hiatus from dating and relationships. When Parker goes back to Dahlia Springs to hang out with his family he never dreamed he would meet up with Ethan. When both men realize that they each can provide help to the other a fake dating partnership is formed. But with chemistry as combustible as theirs and adding in Kink 101 classes can they actually stay apart?
Ethan has always converted himself to be what he thinks his relationships want/need him to be…usually at losing himself to please them. That’s why Parker and Ethan worked. They were real and not posing to be something different. I was worried that Rosie asking Parker to keep her secret was going to be doomsday for their relationship just after the sails were finally unfurled. But I was thankful for Austin, being Ethan’s best friend, to help him open his eyes. And the book couldn’t have been complete without Parker’s PA Hector. I really hope we get his story in one of Lee’s delightful novellas based in Dahlia Springs.
When Lee Blair writes “a small town you’ll wish you could visit.” I agree wholeheartedly! When I was in Oregon this summer and driving from Portland to the coast I kept thinking I wish Dahlia Springs was real. I would have loved one of Dave’s special coffees at A Whole Latte Love and Caleb’s unique and yummy breakfast sandwiches at Be Eggcellent to Each Other! She has created a town so real and familiar that it feels like going home. And the characters are so engaging that they have become like good friends. You just know when you step into Tap That Brewery that Ethan is going to greet you with his famous mega-watt smile that makes you feel welcome and have come home.
I have fallen completely for these four guys and can’t wait to hear Dom’s and also Ty’s stories. This is a funtastic and delightful low-angst series that will leave you laughing one moment and tug at your heartstrings the next. Big thumbs up for me!
