After quitting his job, Billie Watts hits all the food festivals he can as he drives across the country. When he finally reaches Stoney Brook, Maine, he’s excited to find he’s there just in time to try one of the lobster rolls he’s heard so much about. The bright neon yellow food truck with a giant red lobster on top looks like the perfect place to try it.
Lance Karl is as ready as he can be for the start of the three-day Tall Ships Festival and hopes to sell enough lobster rolls out of his food truck to make a good start towards owning a restaurant. The day begins cold and misty, and a text from his nephew saying he can’t help him is not the perfect start he’d hoped for.
When a green-eyed stranger interrupts his frantic morning, Lance doesn’t realize meeting Billie will not only change his day, but maybe even the rest of his life. Two strangers, drawn together over their work ethic, and sealing the deal over delicious lobster rolls. They could just be the perfect match. A small-town MM Vacation romance.

Jeremy Riley fell in love with sailing when he was a troubled teen and sent away to camp for the summer. Now he’s sailing for a living. Getting a bachelors in vessel operations was the best thing that he could’ve done. Most of the year, he’s on the ship helping with hands-on education for the New England Maritime Academy.
The bright spot in Kendall Winters’ life is his daughter, three-year-old Savannah. How his sister had deserted Savy when she was diagnosed with cancer and needed her the most boggled his mind. Her loss was his gain — and there was no way he was ever giving Savy back to her. Now if he could find someone to share Savy’s highs and lows with, that would be amazing.
A summer trip to the Tall Ship Festival to get away from his parents and let Savy explore ‘boats’ seems like the best idea. Sun and sea for him and Savy sounded perfect to him. Add in a gorgeous sailor with eyes that sparked with mirth? Sign him up.

Exclusive Excerpt:
Kendall wasn’t sure what possessed him to ask Jeremy to dance. He knew they both needed a break from the emotional roller coaster they’d ridden. It wasn’t often he shared how Savy came into his life. Working from home, he had work acquaintances but not really friends. They chatted over the Cisco platform for projects and things like remembering Boss’ day or admin professionals’ day.
Jeremy’s hands on his hips felt right. Kendall put one of his hands on Jeremy’s shoulder and the other on his waist. As the mellow tones of Ed Sheeran’s voice floated on the air. Thinking Out Loud was one of those songs that had always made Kendall wish for someone of his own.
“I’ve always loved this song,” Jeremy whispered in Kendall’s ear as he pulled him closer, moving them in a slow sway before turning him around. Without Kendall really noticing, Jeremy had them moving in a rhythm to match the thrumming of the bass with a slow hitch on the down beat.
Kendall started singing along with Ed; nothing too loud. A tension was building between them he didn’t want to break. He was sure it was going to lead somewhere. Where and what the end result would be, Kendall wasn’t sure but he did know he hadn’t felt like this in forever… if he’d ever felt this way. The attraction he was experiencing for Jeremy? He’d never been this connected so fast. He knew he hadn’t let anyone this close since he adopted Savy.
Leaning his head against Jeremy’s chin, Kendall let Jeremy move him to the music. He let everything fade except being in this man’s arms. The music flowed out of his phone. Kendall wasn’t even really listening to the words or the songs anymore; it blended from Ed Sheeran to Calum Scott’s You Are The Reason to Ben Platt with Grow As We Go.
The stillness of the world around them seemed to wrap them together. He could feel Jeremy’s cock hardening against his hip. He resisted the urge to line up his own dick. A quickie wasn’t something he wanted. He’d outgrown the one-off stage in college. Sown his wild oats at the frat parties and row houses. But when Jeremy turned his head and placed a kiss on Kendall’s temple, he couldn’t stop himself from moving his head to claim Jeremy’s lips in a kiss. Jeremy stilled for a minute before kissing him back.
Kendall parted his lips and let Jeremy’s tongue slide in to twine around his own. They stopped moving and pressed their bodies closer. Jeremy’s cock felt like a branding iron against his own. Hot and hard. A slow bump and grind started between them. A shift here, feeling heat there. How had things heated up so fast?

Have you ever met the right one at the wrong time?
I did. Eight years ago.
This is the story of the first time he walked into my life.
It was the summer before my final year in college, and just like every other summer, I was in Stoney Brook, Maine, to work the annual Tallship Festival.
The son of an oil magnate and top of my class, I didn’t need to work—especially not as a bartender and dock hand—but I did need the few months away from all of the expectation and pressure, an escape that Stoney Brook granted me every year.
That escape got complicated when William Waters sailed over the horizon and swaggered his way into town.
A travel blogger sailing the world on an inherited schooner, this tall, tanned, and handsome hunk was about to rock my boat and knock my carefully charted plans off course.
It would take another eight years before the stars would finally align for us, but sometimes one weekend is all fate needs to change everything you thought you knew…
That summer would prove to be a precursor to the rest of our lives.
**trigger warning: The characters are happy at the end, but you might not be. This isn’t your momma’s HFN.**
