Considering how this year is going, I thought I’d list fifteen things that make me happy right now because we all need more happiness in our lives, right?

1. My 2-week old grandbaby! I’m sure no explanations are necessary, but she’s healthy and adorable and owns me completely
2. All the autumny foods I’m can cook now. Soups may be my favorite kind of food.
3. Two musical heroes that I’ve loved forever but that have been putting out meh music for a decade or so, have finally released something that reminds me of why I love them. Alanis Morissette and Erasure, I’m looking at you.
4. Lighting up dark Swedish evenings with an abundance of candles
5. The crisp, fresh fall air
6. My writing mornings. Getting out of bed early to write every day allows me to be more creative in my life in general, and I love it.
7. My writing buddies. Having people to talk to who understand is invaluable.
8. The wonderful bracelet my husband gave me for my birthday. I can’t stop looking at it with heart-eyes
9. Christmas planning. I’ve been in a holiday mood and read Christmas stories for a month already. I can’t wait for this year’s holiday stories to start dropping
10. A nice, hot beverage on a chilly October day. Green tea is always a favorite, but chai latte made from my homemade chai syrup is a close second.
11. Using pen and paper when writing, instead of my laptop or other electronic devices.
12. The group chat I have with my BFFs
13. My bullet journal. It keeps me both organized and happy.
14. My wild mint scented candles. They smell so nice! And why is it that everything tastes or smells just a little better if you put “wild” in front of it? As in wild mint smells better than regular old mint? 🙂
15. Reading in front of a YouTube fire. You have to make do with what you’ve got, right?
