REVIEW:
The author was amazing on how the main character’s past was so thoroughly described. The heartbreak that bleed off the pages had me wanting to cry a few times. I was drawn in as soon as I started to read the only thing was in the first chapter I did lose a bit of my mojo when it suddenly through me into the past. Even though it was an important part of his story, I got a thrown off with the timeline.
Johnny the main character was relatable in theory with leaving his past behind and moving out of state for a job. With so much pain, loss and destruction it’s understandable why he felt the need to move all. This is not an unrealistic concept, since it’s seen numerous times in movies, TV shows and in everyday personal lives.
The atmosphere that he ended up in was definitely where I had hoped the story would lead. He not only found a family but he found a place that he felt comfortable enough to explore his sexuality. The main reason for a lot that had happened.
So if you are in the mood for a short story that had a little angst but definitely has a very HEA then this is the book for you.
