Not even the darkest night can extinguish the radiance of two loving hearts coming together.
Life is a daily celebration for Adrian Pontimore, the hottest new event planner for the Manhattan elite. His days are a high-priced whirlwind of cocktail parties, weddings, conventions, tea parties, housewarmings, and baby showers. Everything is simply amazing for the owner of Quintessentially Adrian Event Designs. Until the dark and hate-filled side of life rears its ugly head, tearing apart the delicate happy bubble that Adrian has constructed around himself.
If not for the bravery of one of New York’s finest, Adrian’s days fussing over décor and bridal parties might have come to an abrupt end. There’s something about a man in uniform, but there is something extra special about Officer Galen Ellison. Not only did he save Adrian’s life, he’s slowly winning his heart. It’s going to take time, patience, and good humor to help Adrian overcome the fears that haunt the shadows now, but those are qualities that the handsome, affable beat cop seems to have an abundance of.
REVIEW:
Trigger warning: hate crime, mugging, severe beating, homophobia
I absolutely love Adrian. He has this pizzazz about him that just makes you love him so much. He is a queen, high maintenance and has no problem telling you that. But it’s part of his charm. I was so waiting for him to have a good story. I was very surprised at who he ended up with, because at first I was picturing someone else, but the way this book turned out with everyone, ended up being perfect.
Adrian is known for his flair. He’s also known for his parties, thanks to Brian and Isamu. He’s busy as ever and loving life. And at a park where planning an event, he meets the man of his dreams, and all in a uniform as well. Police officer Galen has charmed the pants off Adrian. Well Adrian wants his pants off, but he’s trying to behave. But one night after the event he did, everyone went home and he was finishing cleaning up, when something bad happens to him. And now, he’s lost his spark. He’s terrified and has panic attacks at the slightest thing. And it’s going to take the love of friends, patience, love and understanding from his new beau and a boost of confidence from Adrian himself, to get his spark back and put his life back together.
I hate when bad things happen to good people. I don’t care if it’s a sexuality thing, a race thing or whatever. It’s just wrong. Adrian never hurt anybody. He was just a flair and high maintenance, but he was fun, charming and always with a smile on his face. He overcame great things to get to where he is now and for someone to try to dim his light just broke my heart. But what I love is that Galen is perfect for Adrian in so many ways. He doesn’t mind the flair or the high maintenance. In fact, he loves it. It just adds to everything that is part of Adrien’s heart and soul. He’s also perfect, because not only does he save Adrian, but he’s determined to help bring that spark back into Adrian’s life. He’s just one to want to jump into the sack, he generally just wants to woo the man. To show him love and affection and be all that Adrian will let him be for him. And it’s just a perfect pairing. When you read, you will see why.
I love this series. I’ve loved each and every story in this series. And it’s hard to pick any one as a favorite because they are all so good. I’m just happy to see that these guys are getting who’s perfect for them after all the crap they’ve had to endure.
