Welcome back to Love Bytes! I hope everyone is having a grand time at GayRomLit Retreat! Miss you all and hope to see you again soon!

I’m in the throes of preparing for travel to YCON 2018 in Paris. I’ll be there for my birthday which is infinitely exciting! I am concurrently excited and anxious, and OCD has taken over my brain.

Mel, Sara, Anna will be going along. Special thanks and shout out to Bénédicte Girault for all she has done and continues to do for us! Sara is also bringing along her incredibly talented teenage daughter, Gwendolyn! Gwendolyn painted these awesome Halloween pumpkins! Clearly the Cody pumpkin is my fave.

I’m busily listing all that should be done before I leave… the French Slaying Isidore’s Dragons’ cover, fun swag, and, of course, preparing an information packet. There is no doubt in my mind that I’ll forget something, and it will probably be something critical—like my passport. All things considered, planning is going well. Mel is a planner in the extreme. I am terribly lucky to know her. I’m excited to see new things I haven’t seen since my last visit to Paris and look forward to seeing the old as well. I did insist on Bateaux-Mouches. It is quintessential Paris and my favorite thing to do there. I’d do it every night if I could.

I’m bumbling along in my futile attempts to remain organized and feel fortunate the only event that has marred my preparations is a horrid headache and a grapefruit-sized arm from the TDaP vaccination my doc insisted I have before I leave. I skipped the flu shot, though. No US flu shot will combat a EU strain. I’m braving it.

All things considered, my excitement far outweighs my anxiety and I cannot wait to meet all of you! Read the Prologue and first two chapters of Terrasser les Dragons d’Isidore here!
