The Sci-Regency series has always been my favorite series to work on and coincidentally it’s covers have always been my favorite. Honestly, I had a lot of apprehension at the thought of redoing the cover for My Fair Captain. I always considered the original cover a master piece among cover art and was certain no other cover could come close to matching it in my heart or eyes. The first cover was not only beautiful but captured the feel of the series: a bit of sexiness, a splash of romance, and a mix of old and new. When the cover artist, Tif, and I started working together I was delighted and a little relieved to learn that she was familiar with the series. She knew my characters which gave her an edge over the old cover artist. She sent me a link to a picture with a note saying, “This is how I have always imagined Nate.”  I was stunned. She had found Nate! I had never been able to find a likeness of him; I’d come close, but it never matched the picture in my head. I knew right then that this was going to be a fun adventure. And I was right. Not only did I enjoy working with Tif, but she managed to capture all the the things about the first cover that I adored plus she managed to give the cover an updated look to go with the updated story. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use the perfect representation of Nate on the cover, but again Tif came through and found a nice replacement. She did a splendid job and I’m happy to say that while the old cover still holds a place in my heart, I like the new cover just as well.  I hope you all enjoy the new cover and the revised story as much as I do.

J.L. Langley said her first words at six months of age. By the time she was a year old, she was talking in complete sentences and, as most of her family and friends will tell you, she hasn’t shut up since. After becoming an accomplished motormouth, J.L. set out to master other avenues of self-expression, including art, and dance.

She attended the University of Texas, where she majored in art, and worked as a dance instructor on the side. Her love of artistic expression in dance landed her a career in which she taught and performed for over twenty-five years. After marriage to her junior high school sweetheart and the birth of their children, J.L. decided to try her hand at writing. To date, she has several successful novels and a handful of novellas to her credit.

She lives in Texas, where she was born and raised, with her real life hero, their rowdy two boys, two even rowdier German Shepherds and ten goldfish, one of which is named Jaws. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found with her nose in a book, appreciating the communication skills of other writers.
