Synopsis
Riot’s attempt to teach his pretty lover to behave himself doesn’t… quite… go as planned.
Jazz loves pretty things and things that go BOOM. Tyger, AKA Riot, is a man on a mission, searching for the bits and pieces that’ll repair his damaged, bio-constructed DNA. It only makes sense for the happily mismatched lovers to turn airship pirates and sneak, snatch or con what they need, right?
Right. One problem. Occasionally Jazz gets a little too fond of explosives, and Tyger gets a tad too focused on his quest. When that happens, they need to vent a little steam. So to speak.

High. Really high. That was how Riot rated a rescue rope. Being able to swoop into the skies above certainly beat death by mauling from a pack of hungry hounds, who apparently thought Jazz looked like a particularly tasty strip of bacon in a dress.
Within five feet of the waiting Sarah-Jessica, Jazz made a face, pulled out the last of his explosives, and tossed it into the distance. The most harmless of them all, nothing but a puff of savory smoke, but very handy for kitchen thievery. Dogs being dogs, there was that problem solved. Jazz waved at the ship. “Continue.”
Riot had deliciously strong arms. He hauled Jazz-on-a-rope into the ship and — let no one forget about his lovely strong legs — kicked the hatch shut behind them.
Mmm, he smelled good.
“Got you,” Riot said, proud as rum punch and twice as tasty. Although rather more smug at the present moment. “What’s that about who I think I’m talking to, again, and excellence as an escape artist? And just so you know, that last salon bomb was completely unnecessary.”
“Yes, but it was fun. One for good measure never hurts,” Jazz said, dropping a butterfly kiss on the tip of Riot’s nose.
Pish-tosh. Payback for the wisecrack could wait. Riot looked as enticing as he sounded. Muscles, muscles everywhere, long and sleek to fit the elegant fencer’s body a benevolent deity had granted him, curling dark hair that tumbled carelessly over his forehead, and a smile both wickedly roguish and boyish, capable of dissolving all undergarments ever made.
“It worked, didn’t it?” Jazz preened. “And you’ve still got me.”
“That I do,” Riot said, enfolding Jazz’s smaller, daintier self into his arms for a good squeeze and a proper hello kiss. “You do escape. I do rescue.”
“Quite well, too. I never doubted you would. And who said you were finished kissing me? No one? Precisely.” Jazz tipped Riot into his pilot’s chair by means of one gentle finger-poke to the chest and climbed on board, skirts rustling as they settled.
Hello, again. “Now, let’s get a look at you.” He could feel the changes in Riot, a new fluidity of muscle indicative of speed and power. “Oh, nice. Which was it this time?” Jazz murmured. Technically, repairing the broken links in Riot’s damaged DNA was the reason why they skipped about the galaxy, stealing bits of this and bobs of that.
Well. That was Riot’s reason. Jazz went along for the ride, the pretty things, and the multiple opportunities to make things go boom.

Will Okati (formerly known as Willa) has lived through a few Interesting Times, but come out the other side a little grayer, a little wiser, and ready to get writing. Still as passionate about coffee, cats, and crafts as ever, but knowing that to your own self you must be true. Also still one of the quiet ones to watch out for, but life — like storytelling — is always a work in progress.
