Landon has been dreaming about Adam Taggart his whole life. Tag’s has some mixed feelings, though, and he might just need an intervention…
Landon Gaudet may not be the best bull rider on earth, but he knows that’s where the money is in rodeo. His Cajun heart is more involved with horses, though, and with finding the cowboy he’s been dreaming of all of his relatively short life.
Adam Taggart has been around the block more than once, and while he thinks Landon is special, he also thinks the kid deserves better than a safety man with more than his share of notches on the bedpost. Adam does everything he can to resist Landon, but there’s not a man alive who doesn’t love being loved, is there?
Landon can’t believe Adam is finally with him, that his cowboy has finally come around to his way of thinking. The only problem is that Adam isn’t sure he deserves love, or that he really has any to give. He questions everything from his need for Landon to his family’s assertion that he can do better than a boy from the bayou. Can Landon show Adam that sometimes magic is real, and that all you really need is to have a little faith?
This book has previously been released elsewhere. The publisher has changed.
REVIEW:
We are back in the bayou and going on the lower bull riding circuit so that Jason Scott could get some much needed riding time and practice.
Landon may not be much of a bull rider, but he does what he can to help out Sister with money. He is a horse whisperer though. And he’s been taking care of them since they were preteens and all alone. And now he gets a chance to meet and work with the man that he’s dreamed about forever. Because Landon knows Adam is the one. He’s dreamt about him for years.
I will say that Landon was a worker. Nothing stopped him from helping support and take care of Sister, his twin. He took on any and every job he can. And he’s not afraid to throw himself in harms way. And he was smart in the ways that mattered. Not everyone is book-smart, but Landon was very wise when he needed to be. And he had every right to be proud of what he had accomplished was so little given to him.
Unfortunately this wasn’t one of my favorites of this series. Between trying to understand the two Cajun speaking characters and poor Sammy, I spent way too much time going to translate to figure out what Landon was saying. And I’m a bit more skeptical, like Adam‘s brothers, of all the magic and stuff.
I guess I never realized what a slut Adam was. He had literally bedded almost all of the characters I adore at one time or another. That was a bit disheartening but understandable in that era this was written. Gay cowboys on the circuit found pleasure with those around who enjoyed a bit of fun but had to be discreet. That wasn’t surprising. I’m not sure if his conquests partners all knew but it sounded like he had a few of them that wound up together later. I was thankful that he finally pulled his head out of his backside and stood up to his brothers about who Landon was to him and how special his is.
I was glad that the author brought us to the big wedding at the end. That was a pleasant surprise for sure. But honestly, I’m more into my bullfighters and the men that they save.
Looking forward to more in this series.
