REVIEW:

Shelter is book four in the series Savage Warriors by Ms. Reese Knightley and follows the story of Sage and Law. I love this couple, especially Law. I remember meeting Law in Gravity, book two of this series, where we finally witness the love story of Dave and Stone. If you recall Law and Stone had a past and Dave got jealous but then it was necessary to bring Law into the fold. Law is not new to these kinds of operations, just like Stone, he has been an Operator for quite some time already. Meanwhile Sage is one of the members of YA, the group led by Azrael. YA consists of young men who were saved from the streets where they worked as assassins for a very evil man.

Law and Sage had been with each other in several of the operations where both Genesis and YA were involved. Genesis and YA, together with Phoenix, Erebus, Pegasus are only a few of the special operations groups that the Secretary of Defense monitors. These are Operators who are called upon when local authorities’ hands are tied by systems that are meant to protect those who cannot protect themselves but somehow unable to do so in these circumstances.

The home base of Genesis and YA is a ranch where they do all their trainings and operations from. They were there waiting for their next missions when Sage started receiving these calls that he sometimes would not answer. One time, Law followed Sage secretly when Sage went to meet someone in a bar, not for anything but just to hand that someone an envelope of cash. Sage has also been monitoring a series of deaths of young assassins whom he knew previously and were friends with when he was still on the streets himself. So the team went to investigate the latest one when Sage just slipped out. The one who just got killed was someone he knew really well. When it became apparent that these latest kills are somehow related to Sage personally, it now becomes a matter that they all have to resolve because Viper has also got wind of it because the supposed leader of this group is someone they are very interested in. Also these are all young people under someone who Sage really knew well. And it turns out that this person is also someone whom the SecDef wants stopped.

While all of these are going on, Law and Sage just became closer and closer and the team even went to Law’s family’s thanksgiving and spent the holiday there with Law’s family and they got to know Sage then.

I love these men and stories created by Ms. Reese Knightley and I love action romance very much so if you are like me and have been following her series, this is another bestseller. Thank you Ms. Reese for this universe and for these men who are beautiful and just perfect in their imperfections.
