BLURB:
A baby in his arms. A safe place to land. And the man who shows up when everything is on the line.
Corporal Morgan Armitage arrives at Guardian Hall in the middle of the night with his daughter. He’s a veteran carrying grief, trauma, and now a newborn, and he’s terrified he’ll fail her. Guardian Hall gives him space to breathe, to heal, and to learn how to be a father when every instinct tells him he’s one mistake away from losing everything.
Cole Braxton is used to solving problems from a distance. Then Morgan and his baby are suddenly part of his world—and distance isn’t an option. Drawn to a man who will do anything to protect his child, Cole finds himself wanting to be the one Morgan turns to.
As Morgan learns how to care for Gabbi—and trust the people around him—something fragile begins to grow between him and Cole. What Morgan doesn’t expect is to be seen: not as broken, not as a burden, but as a man who is already enough. As he starts to find his place with Gabbi, Morgan has to trust that what he’s building with Cole won’t disappear when he needs it most.
Always Enough is a hurt/comfort, single dad romance featuring a veteran, a protective millionaire, found family, and gentle caregiving—where safety isn’t a weakness, and being enough is everything.
REVIEW:
This series has been such a lovely thing to read.
Morgan is a man looking for his place in the world. He left the army with the intent of making a better life for himself with his friend and their baby. But fate had other ideas and now he’s trying to figure out how to navigate life with a child.
Cole is just as lost, but in a different way. He’s coasting along, trying not to let his parents take control of his whole life but when you aren’t sure what you want, it’s easy to lose your way.
Watching these two men figure out how to stand up for themselves and find their way while also helping each other is a fantastic journey. I would be easy to assume that Cole’s struggles aren’t as hard as Morgan’s but it doesn’t take long to realize that isn’t true. They are just different.
Both men are sweet and loving, with strong character and courageous hearts. It just take them a while to realize it.
There’s not a lot of outside angst in this story but that’s okay. The angst comes from inside themselves and are issues that they have to work out with the help of their friends and loved ones. Watching them grow closer was so wonderful. It was a good story to read on a day when I needed something comforting and that guarantee of a happy ending is something I depend on.
This story is a little on the short side, but it was definitely complete. Not that I wouldn’t read a whole bunch about Morgan and Cole and their beautiful baby, just to spend some time smiling.
R.J. Scott always writes such earnest characters that are so easy to love and relate to. Their world building and storytelling are always first class. I highly recommend this story for anyone who needs something warm and fuzzy and hopeful to brighten their day.
And don’t we all these days?
