BLURB:

Rick Marcus was never a one-hit wonder. He was a man waiting for his second chance until the industry told him it was over. And Rick doesn’t do endings.

Allen Black just wanted someone who stayed. Done with hookups and one-night stands, he’s ready for the real thing and when Rick approaches him, Allen can’t believe his luck. Rick is charming, attentive, and the kind of man who makes Allen feel wanted.

But Rick comes with baggage. The kind that can ruin lives. And once Rick sets his sights on Allen, walking away might be the most dangerous choice Allen can make.

REVIEW:

Rick is a musician and had one big hit, which gave him fame. Now, his manager has his eyes on other musicians. He advised Rick to move on. Rick doesn’t accept that his career is over. No way! Instead of moving on, he moved to his manager, enraged, and not with the best intentions. He has no regrets only satisfaction.

Allen works at a call centre, he’s lonely. He had a few hook-ups but nothing meaningful, he just wants to be seen and cared for, someone to lean on. Then he meets Rick, and he recognizes him, but doesn’t care about it. They shared a table because there was just one available.
One thing leads to another, some dates, and they end up in bed.

Meanwhile, Rick has his eyes on more people who wronged him.

Sorry to say, I didn’t like Rick. All the other killers in this series I’ve read so far were lovable, for me, Rick wasn’t.
The relationship between Allen and Rick was awkward, I couldn’t connect with them, and I missed romantic.
The story didn’t work for me, I’m sure other readers will disagree and love it.
