BLURB:

When a vampire test subject from the lab shows up at my doorstep moments before sunrise, I have two choices: Let him die or let him in.

Dr. Rupert Martin works in a covert lab that’s experimenting with hybrid, test-tube vampires. If he’d known of their diabolical mission, he never would’ve agreed to work for them. But now he knows too much for them to let him go.

Sullivan, aka vampire Specimen 19, barely escapes his underground prison with his life. Gravely injured and with the sun about to rise, he has nowhere else to turn but to the one doctor who showed him kindness instead of cruelty.

While Ru and Sully navigate a dangerous path forward, an unexpected attraction blooms between them. Their chemistry won’t be denied. Can they take down the very lab that brought them together, or are they barreling fangs-first toward an inevitable disaster?

Sullied is a gay vampire romance featuring a touch-starved young vampire with a tragic past, his generous but fearful savior, a hidden cabin in the woods, a few different first times, and a vampire with a sweet tooth. It’s a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily ever after!

REVIEW:

Sullivan, or 19 as he’s called as a resident of a covert underground research facility, has managed to escape his cage, the underground bunker and the cover building above.  He’s injured in the process and losing a lot of blood.  He’s taken one of the hybrid rats with him also – 24.  The sun is about to rise and he has to make it to the home of the only person at the lab who has been kind to him – Dr. Martin.  Sullivan is a hybrid vampire/human ad he’s memorized the address and the way to Dr. Martin’s home, but the sun is about to rise and his half human status does not give him protection from that.  He’ll fry to a crisp if he doesn’t get somewhere out of the encroaching sunlight.  He knocks.  Will the doctor open?

Dr. Rupert Martin, Ru to his friends, is surprised to hear a knock at his door this early in the morning and he’s preparing to head to his job at Innovation Immortal Technologies, or II Tech.  He’s not happy about the job.  He thought he’d be doing something to help the preternatural world.  Instead, he’s found himself part of a facility that mistreats the human/vampire hybrids : (  He never would have taken the job if he know what they were up to.  If he hadn’t been in grief over his parents being killed in a car accident, he would be in this predicament.  He’s surprised to see Sullivan on his doorstep. He’s dismayed to see the shape he’s in – with back injuries and a hybrid rt on his shoulder!  Sullivan is determined that’s for sure.  And Ru can’t send him away.

Ru has to head in to work though or the suspicion will center on him and Sullivan will be recaptured and probably be treated even worse!  Sullivan stays in Ru’s bathroom to recover from his injuries.  Thankfully as a hybrid he can eat human food, so Ru leaves him with water and leftovers to help him heal.

When Ru gets to the lab, things are in chaos.  The cameras have shown somewhat how 19 got away.  But once he’s off the property he’s no longer able to be tracked.  Thankfully the good timing of rain also helps cover his tracks.  Whew!  But what are Ru and Sullivan going to do?

When Sullivan hears a vampire outside Ru’s house after a week or so of hiding out, they decide to move.  Ru calls in a favor and they are able to get away.  He then finagles a way for some time off of work.  He wants to get Sullivan far far away from II Tech where they can hide and live their lives.

Unexpectedly, help shows up in  the person of a former foe.  Or at least a perceived foe.  Sully, as he now likes to be called, is none to happy about this turn of events.  And he’s determined to take II Tech down.  He and Ru aren’t necessarily on the same page and things get pretty scary.  They will need to work together though if they want to take down the baddies and get their HEA.

This is a surprising romance between and human and a vampire/human hybrid that takes unexpected twists and turns and finishes with a very happy ending 🙂   I loved the world built here with the hybrids.  The surprises were plentiful and really added to the adventure.  I loved Zoe, Ru’s bestie.  And the support from unexpected quarters led to some intense moments that I relished.  Sully is a total delight!  His sweet tooth kept me chuckling 🙂  Ru is such a good guy and I was so happy that he and Sully found each other.  They are able to balance each other and find their more person 😉  There are plenty of sexy times too – even while on the run 😀  Highly recommended for fans of fun, sweet and sexy paranormal stories especially!
