REVIEW:
Neil Greene and Alexander Ford are both teachers at the local high school in Pendleton Bay. Neil has a bit of a crush on Alex but he’s a bit shy. Neil is gay and out, but he’s also a teacher and his mother is the mayor so . . . Alexander thinks Neil is cute, but when he happens to see an unexpected package that Neil has accidentally had sent to the school, he thinks maybe he and Neil have more in common than he thought. He teases Neil a bit and Neil decides to be brave and ask Alexander about kink.
They have some conversations and Alexander offers to “tutor” Neil. Neil has a lot of questions and when they find they might have compatible desires, they embark on a D/s friends with benefits sort of arrangements. Their weekly scenes are exactly what Neil has been looking for. As they spend more time together, they reveal their past relationships – which have left them both a bit damaged and afraid to get into something serious.
As the months go on, Alexander and Neil spend more time together outside of their weekly scenes. They seem to be sort of “dating” even though that wasn’t what they agreed to. And despite their best efforts, feelings get involved 😉
This is actually a quite sweet story between two men who have been unlucky in love in the past. They are cute as they figure out that they have much more in common than the originally imagined. Alexander has been lonely since his relationship imploded with his previous sub. He’s kept things to casual playmates. Neil has a bad relationship that left him questioning his desires and he’s been reluctant to pursue his kink. He trusts Alexander though and they embark on an agreed “relationship” that leads to more. The relationship build is believable and organic to the story. I enjoyed the small town flavor and funny residents who seem to be encouraging of Neil and Alexander’s couplehood 🙂 The kink and BDSM are fairly light here but sexy and hot. I really liked the way these two figured out their path forward.
James Edward Jones does a great job with the performance of this story. There are quite a few characters and I liked all the voice choices. The locals, the other teachers/students, and Neil’s parents were especially fun and cheeky 🙂 Very cute despite what can be a heavy subject. I am looking forward to more in this series 🙂
