An unexpected love will soon be Hounding Hank…

Matchmaking Mamas helped my best friend, Maverick, and his rival neighbor find love. If they can help those two, it should be a piece of cake to find me a guy, right?

The dating pool of available men is small, but finally after weeks of waiting, the Mamas come through for me. Hank is sweet and charming via text, and we instantly connect over our love of dogs.

And when I lay eyes on him for our first date–holy heck, is he hot!

It seems like a perfect match.

Until Hank gets a look at me and just about swallows his tongue–and not in a good way.

Hank was expecting to meet a woman. Instead, he got me.

The Matchmaking Mamas have epically screwed the pooch, and left Hank and me to clean up the mess. But there’s a friendship in the making that might be worth all the trouble–if I can just keep my inconvenient attraction under wraps.

I don’t want to hound Hank about my unreciprocated feelings, but the closer we get, the more I start to wonder…

Could Hank still be my Prince Charming, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

REVIEW:

This is another sweet and humorous story set in Granville, our favorite small Nebraska town fully of quirky characters and matchmaking grannies!  This time Jamie, best friend of Maverick (an MC from the previous book), is looking for love.  He’s not had any luck on the dating front and he wants to break free from his catering company job and start his own business – pet treats!  He agrees to try the Matchmaking Mamas with high hopes.  When he finally matches with someone and they have great convo.  They agree to a date at the dog park and he’s thrilled!

Hank is new to town. He’s moved to Granville to help out his youngest brother who is about to be evicted.  He can’t seem to get his life together.  Hank likes the town and he gets buttonholed into letting the Matchmaking Mamas fine him a date when Iola comes in to pick  up her dog at the Doggie Daycare and grooming business he works at.  He texts the potential date, a girl named Jamie.  He’s excited about the dog park date.

Hank recognizes the dogs from his chat with Jamie.  What he doesn’t recognize is Jamie.  The very male Jamie.  Uh oh.  Hank is straight and this isn’t at all what he expected.  Jamie is clearly disappointed to find out that Hank is not at least bi 🙁  But the continue the date anyway – figuring they can both use a new friend since clearly romance is off the table.

A funny thing happens on the way to friendship though.  It turns out that Jamie has feelings for Hank which are clearly one-sided.  Aren’t they?  Maybe not.  Hank realizes that he likes Jamie a lot more than he’s like anyone he’s met in a long long time.  And maybe, just maybe he isn’t as straight as he through he was 😉

This story is so cute!  First, I love all the Granvillians.  This town is hilarious and reminds me a lot of my mother’s tiny home town.  I love the heart and the humor in all of these stories and this is no exception.  Getting to peak in on couples from the previous book in this series as well as the cross-over series are lovely easter eggs that I enjoy in every one of these series/books 🙂  I feel like these small town rom-com type stories are this author’s special sauce stories.  Each series has built and I feel like I could read about these people forever.  The Matchmaking Mamas continue to be a source of hilarity and humanity in this town.

If you want a fun, funny, sweet and sexy romance that will definitely deliver plenty of laughs and romance, then this is your book.  Humor and heart – hallmarks of these DJ Jamison series.  Highly recommended.
