When James was little he had a monster under his bed. Getting older he grew over it.
Now at twenty-six, there’s a shadow standing in his bedroom, a very large and very attractive creature. He’s dreaming of course, he has to be.
Nuh-uh, not dreaming at all.
Hex is the prince of the Shadow Realm. His powers are fading, he needs to feed from Adam. When they were both younger, he fed from Adam’s nightmares, now, he wants to feed from his pleasure.
When Adam understands that Hex is fading away, he wants to help. Oh my goody, Hex fulfils every thinkable pleasure. Their bond is strong. Hex worships Adam, calling him ‘My Love’ and protecting him every single day.
We are introduced to the other shadow men. They came by to, or support Hex, or to threaten him.
And there’s gothic Felix, Adam’s boss. So great to meet him.
Hex isn’t here only for the fun; he has a purpose. Feed from Adam, get stronger, and go back to the Shadow Realm, fight, and take over his throne. He’ll be gone. It’s inevitable.
Adam is devastated that Hex will be gone for good. He knew it would happen, but still.
What a great concept for this new series. I love the way this author writes. It’s always clear, focused on the important aspects, super emotional, darkish but not too dark, with wonderful main characters and intriguing plots.
So happy the author started writing this new series, I enjoyed this one very much!
All the other shadow men will be getting their own book. Dark, Night, Wraith, Fiend, and Dis.
Can’t wait for the next one.
