LEO
I left the US for a fresh start. A self-centered mafia heir with stalker tendencies is the last thing I need on my head. And the job he’s offering me? I’m definitely turning it down.
Except he’s sexy, charming and won’t take No for an answer. He stirs in me things no man has stirred before, but I blame that on the fact that I need to get laid.
After all, even straight guys can find other men hot when it’s been a while, right?
CHAI
I need a new bodyguard. But finding a good match is harder than you’d think.
Until Leo saves me from an ambush in one of Nagoya’s back alleys.
He’s reckless, a little wild and his pretty blue eyes are impossible to forget. My father won’t like him one bit, and not just because he’s a foreigner.
But I made up my mind the moment I caught Leo trying to spy on me. He had his chance and he blew it. Now I want him, and I won’t settle for less when he makes me look at him in a way I haven’t looked at a man before.
This fun & steamy MM mafia romcom features idiots to lovers, double bi-awakening, double himbo, a power couple with all the green flags, experimenting of the late night type, chaotic cinnamon roll MC, supportive friends and some plot & action to keep things exciting. While the setting itself is mafia, the story is not dark.
REVIEW:
I’m going to start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The humor and the heartfelt moments, the sweetness and the kickass, it was all wonderful.
Leo is sweet for someone who can really kick ass. He’s on the run when he finds himself a savior to one of the most beautiful men he’s ever met.
Chai has a good heart for someone who was raised to be a Yakuza and its lust at first sight when he sees Leo for the first time. He wants to change the future for himself and when Leo comes along it’s like a catalyst for him to get his butt in gear.
I loved these two guys. They were fun and adorable and sexy and they show a lot more sweetness toward each other than I was expecting. Naomi is my third favorite character. She’s a great friend to Leo and it’s nice to see a positive female portrayal in a male romance.
I laughed a lot through this book. I can totally picture these two, flirtying and teasing while non-chalantly kicking ass all around them. And then there’s the sex! It’s hot enough to scorch the earth and I was definitely sitting in front of a fan, trying to cool off. If you are a woman of a certain age, beware of the hot flashes!
I loved the premise of this book and the way it was put together really worked for me. The authors did a fantastic job of playing the characters off of each other and while there wasn’t a lot of interaction with other characters, I did enjoy the banter between Chai and his old friend and Leo’s with Naomi. And Chai’s dad? Well he turned out totally different than I was expecting.
All in all, I have no problem giving this a solid 4.5 and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
