REVIEW:
Mo Carstairs did not want to return to CDR. On his last job, he lost a client and after that, he withdraws back to his home in the mountains. Losing a client and also his boy around the same time was just too much. The case CDR offers him now is intriguing enough to poke up his curiosity.
Joseph Holden is a twenty-five-year-old pain-in-the-ass CEO, he doesn’t make friends with his attitude, he’s haughty, a brat and thinks he’s a Daddy. Little does he know!
Mo recognizes the look in the man’s eyes, fear. He needs a bodyguard, someone wants him dead. CDR is the company that will investigate. Joseph not only needs protection, but he also needs a firm hand aka Daddy Mo. In other words, Mo takes the job!
Joseph thinks Mo will make him look laughable, a bodyguard with too wild hair, a too-long beard, wearing leather, and drives a bike. Joseph is the CEO he’s the one to make the decisions and give orders, not some yeti from the mountain. Mo takes orders from no one and certainly not from a boy who doesn’t know his place. Joseph is furious.
It’s even getting worse when Mo decides to hide in the mountains, only the two of them.
I loved this read. A wonderful Daddy who is patient and has strict and tide rules, a brat who has trouble learning his place and follow orders. When Joseph finally gets it, surrenders and gives himself fully, there is peace and comfort. To see him embrace his little was endearing.
The threat was serious and well thought out, even though for me foreseeable. The security part was well developed.
I loved the dynamic between Mo as Daddy and Joseph as a boy. As adults together they were dedicated, sweet, and hot! Overall they were lovable, I had no trouble connecting with them.
Two men forced proximity, separated from the world, is one of my favorite contents.
It was an awesomely written story, well outlined, maybe a bit predictable I didn’t mind about, comfortable paced, entertaining, and sweet.
