Baer Manning
What happens when Baer spills his big secret about monsters and magic to a total stranger?
Chaos.
In Baer’s defense, he really thought Wiley was a lost brother.
This case of mistaken identity forces the cute artist to stay at the plantation house for his own protection while they search for a way to take down a witch.
Wiley Stuart
He never should have gotten in Baer’s Jeep.
But in Wiley’s defense, Baer is really sexy. And funny. And so sweet. And did he mention sexy?
All his life he’d dreamed of superheroes and a life of action. He just never expected to find himself swept up into a world filled with monsters and goddesses.
Wiley will do anything to stay with this magical band of brothers and help them with their fight. He just wished he could be Baer’s soul mate.
REVIEW:
This is the second book in a new series written by Ms. Jocelynn Drake and Ms. Rinda Elliott. It tells us about six brothers, six souls who find each other time and time again, in different and over several lifetimes. It also tells us about the three sisters who are goddesses who hold on to their powers, their magic, until the brothers are ready to have them again, one lifetime at a time! The brotherhood of Weavers are to protect the world from being destroyed by the pestilents, beings from another dimension who want to siphon all of the earth’s energy!
This is book two wherein we will get to know Baer Manning more, and his potential mate or brother? We will soon find out which one is it really! Baer Manning is the Animal Weaver among his newfound brothers in the Weavers’ Circle. Just like the others, he has been gravitating towards the plantation all his life. When he met his brother/fellow Weaver, Clay, in the first book, they were given an explanation of why things are the way they are, by the goddesses. Baer has a bit of a wild personality, the sort of person who jumps in first, ask questions or think after.
So in retrospect, these two are on the lookout for their other four brothers. And that is how they met Grey. They were forewarned by the goddesses that one of them is on his way to the plantation. And that was how they got Grey, while running away from pestilents, yet again.
On an errand to buy Pumpkin-flavored doughnuts, seeing as it’s nearly fall season, Baer got cornered in the bakery by two pestilents. At the time, he was chatting up an attractive man. He learned that the man was sent there by an old woman he talked to the day before. The woman said that the doughnuts in this particular bakery are delicious and just like Baer was thinking, he need to get there early before the doughnuts get all sold. I think you can say that because they were always on the lookout for their brothers who have yet to arrive, plus the appearance of the pestilents and then what the man was saying to Baer, he would assume that this particular man is one of their missing brothers. I mean, who wouldn’t think that with all the circumstances presented, right? Well, I would probably make the same assumption and conclusion as well!
Wiley was in that bakery at that early hour because of the recommendation/encouragement of an old woman he met at his favorite cafe the day before. Being attracted to the redheaded beautiful man outside the bakery was certainly an added incentive/bonus to this early errand. What he didn’t count on was what happened next. The redheaded beautiful man turned into a cougar right before his eyes and attacked the two pestilents who were shooting at them. After the chaos, Wiley was brought to the plantation to meet the other brothers. It was something beyond Wiley’s normal day-to-day life. Being told that there were Weavers, Goddesses, Soul Mates, Healers and Magic was something that he only dreams/draws in his comic books. He never thought that it could be real and that he could be a part of it. He always thought that he is just ordinary, that he has nothing special to offer anyone. He only has his grandmother and his cat in his life. Meeting Baer, Dane and the Weavers is something out of his fantasy. What follows are events that will either get them killed or bring them closer to finding the rest of their brothers and ending this war with the pestilents.
An action-packed follow-up to the first book, you will love how Wiley’s sweetness, honesty and love for Baer and the rest of the guys endear him to everyone, including the goddesses and Ruby. This book offers so much excitement because we will also meet the fourth Weaver! He is as adorable as the rest of the guys! As expected, there will be mayhem, complications and so much heat that you can’t help but root for these amazing men and what they are willing to sacrifice to save the world! We will witness them fighting the pestilents and create some amazing magic. We will have a lot of sweet and tender moments. We will definitely have steamy moments! An all-around adventure that we can always expect from Ms. Jocelynn Drake and Ms. Rinda Elliott!
